I'm getting back into running in preparation for a duathalon, and my ever increasing distances plus the heat wave we're having right now have got me thinking... I should probably be carrying water when I run.

In the past I've always stayed under 3 miles, and it was easier not to, but now I'm starting to feel like I need the hydration. I went to a sporting goods store last weekend and checked out the hydration belts, but I was a little overwhelmed by the choices.

Suggestions on staying hydrated during your run?

I have a water bottle with a grip tab on it - like this one:

My only complaint is that it sloshes when you're halfway through :P But that'll happen with every bottle -It takes away from the zen of the moment

I wasn't a fan of the hydration packs for running, I just couldn't keep cool properly, and never quite got into using a belt regularly
Sorry I can't help more with choosing a belt though
Good Luck!! :)

I have a 2 bottle Nathan waist belt that really adheres flat to my back. I don't even notice it.

I'm a big drinker. I have to carry water on any run over 1/2 an hour.

For shorter runs I have an Amphipod 4 bottle belt. I like it because I can put water in some bottles and sports drink in others. The belt is stretchy so it conforms to my body and doesn't bounce around

For the longer runs I have an Innov-8 fanny pack. It's got a bladder and hose set up like a Camelbak. I put 2 Amphipod bottles on it for sports drinks. I like this pack because the bladder is oriented horizontally. It distributes the weight around you, so it rides without bouncing.

Good posting.
I agree with you that we should carry a bottle of water because
some time we feel some thrust during the running or walking.
If we drunk some water then we can not lose your stamina.
