Sort of a spin-off of that suspected troll thread... I actually have a recipe for making a near carbon copy of Gatorade Endurance formula, which has about twice the electrolytes of the regular stuff, but is $$, hard to find, and comes in only limited flavors.

Faux Endurance Sportsdrink
1/2 C. + 4 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. Morton Lite Salt
1/2 tsp. table salt
1 pkg. unsweetened "Kool-aid" mix (any flavor you like)

Mix with 2 Q. water to make 64 oz.

Each 8 oz serving has 56 Calories, 14 grams carbohydrate, 220 mg sodium and 85 mg potassium.
Gatorade Endurance Formula (8 oz) has 50 Calories, 14 grams carbohydrate, 200 mg sodium, and 90 mg potassium.

I have been known to make this with powered Splenda or that Splenda/sugar blend--when I don't want all the calories, but still want the electrolytes.

Also, I can't remember...but I think it's 1 or 2 TBS. of the mix if one simply wants to make 1 large bottle of drink from the prepared powder mixture.

Thanks! I'll give this a shot.

Anyone have some flavors to recommend?

I really like grape, but I'm a fan of grape anything. I think I tried strawberry and liked it, too.

Thankyou! This looks so much better than the conventional kool-aid mix.

Sometimes I just put a squirt of lemon juice in my water, this looks fun too. I can just imagine my roommate giving me the side-eye when she see's a bunch of kool-aid in the kitchen, lol.

I've never bought Kool-aid except to use as a yarn dye (yes, it can be done), so I have no real reference. Unfortunately, I find I don't really like grape...don't they have a lemonade-type flavor?
