Women who ride bikes: all ages, all body types, and all passionate about the experience (http://www.oregonlive.com/cycling/index.ssf/2011/06/heidi_swift_talks_to_all_kinds.html) - a nice article on local women cyclists age 7-83!

i just realized there's a companion article (http://www.oregonlive.com/cycling/index.ssf/2011/06/rides_and_resources_for_women.html) that links to teamestrogen.com and talks up the forums here! :)

What a wonderful article! And if that isn't inspiration - none of the ladies resemble anywhere near their "real" age!

Great article. The writer, Heidi Swift, is also a cyclist (cyclocross and touring) and a very good writer. Click on her name to see other articles she has written -- one that impressed me months ago is her telling the story of a bike crash.

Great article. Oregon women ROCK! Okay...we all rock! ;) I'm from Oregon and Oregonlive.com is my local online place for news! If that doesn't inspire you nothing will!

I agree that beginners need good female mentors! (maybe we could call them "womentors").
