Math Problem

Riding in the dark + big hole + 20 mph + slightly underinflated tires =


a pinch BLOWOUT! no little snake eyes here but inch long gashes instead. That is one tube that will not get repaired.


Thom was drafting me and heard all the air just gush right out.

Did you know two people can change a tire twice as fast as one?

It was like a ballet. Thom took the wheel off. I got out the tools. He took out the tube, I blew up the new one slightly. I put the new one in, he held the flashlight while I checked to make sure the tube wasn't pinched. I inflated the tire. He told jokes about hot air. I put the tools away. He put the wheel back on and we were off again.

When it's dark we stick together. :p Otherwise he leaves me in the dust. I need to get that man back on the tandem.
