REI must have stocked up on bike shorts for their anniversary sale. I was amazed how many shorts they had in my size. I bought 5 pairs so I could try them with my bike. I really like liked the way one pair fit and wore them on a 27 mile group ride on Saturday. Talk about awesome. The fit is fantastic, the chamois is perfect, the legs have very wide grippers. No chafing, no bunching, the shorts weren't hot, they stayed in place. They must work well with my saddle 'cause my butt didn't get sore! But I hate the length. 8.5 inch inseam. I have fat ugly thighs so maybe it's blessing in disguise? I bought two of that style because they were on sale for $75 (normally $100). The other three weren't that expensive . . . but I LIKE them all. So how do I choose which ones to keep? I don't have the cash right now for all of them. I don't think I will ever have this luck again!

Please share with us which shorts these are that you love so much! I specifically look for longer length shorts because anything shorter than 8", make my heavy legs look like sausages. Were these the Pearl Izumi Elite In-R-Cool shorts (the ones for $75)? And what were the other less expensive ones?

The $75 pairs are W Elite In-R-Cool Short. The front is lower than the back and felt kind of strange until i got used to it. But it's kind of nice because I am very long waisted. The front didn't come up to my boobs!
W's Attack Short: These were on sale, but I can't remember how much. They have a little shorter inseam. It has a different kind of padding which is a little a thicker, but it doesn't seem to bother me. I've only tried sitting with them on the bike, but they feel just like the Elite shorts.
W's Quest Short. They were $50 and not on sale. :( Even though this fit extremely well and feel very good when I sit on the saddle, I'm not sure I will keep them. I just need to keep the credit card bill down.
Canari Women's Tempo Bike Shorts for $35. These are my favorite for spinning class! Maybe because they are so inexpensive I feel more comfortable giving them a workout. I already have a pair of these. This pair (I think) is the same one only a newer model. They seem to run large so I wound up buying the small instead of the medium. I might even try them a long ride and see how they feel.
Now I have to figure out which ones I should return because I can't afford them all right now. Or maybe I will forego some other things and keep them anyway.
