So I was feeling a tad homesick, and put on some Cajun and Zydeco music. Found that I couldn't help myself dancing around the house. Think some of it would make really good background music for a spin class :D:cool:

I should have discovered this last winter when it was too dark, chilly, and rainy to go out. Got a workout dancing to the beat. Of course the CD player had to be cranked up moderately loud. :D

Good idea! Can you link some examples? That style of music is appealing to me but I don't know who is good and who isn't.

I have some compellation CD's, but enjoyed rocking/dancing with Buckwheat Zydeco. I also like Michel Ducet avec Beau Soileau. But Buckwheat Zydeco is really fun :D

I had never heard of Zydeco until I went to the Lowell Folk Festival about 12 years ago and heard a really good band. It may have been Buckwheat Zydeco, as they were really famous. I know nothing about music and never knew who sang the songs that were on my tapes for my classes when I taught at the gym. I remember dancing to the band and people were going nuts in the street. So yes, that style of music would be great for any fitness class. As long as the music has "even" 8 beat counts... I found out the hard way that not all songs do, when I had DH make me a tape with some songs I liked. I started to use it in class and pulled it out after the 2nd song, the only time I ever did that.
