I've had post-nasal drip and a cough for a few weeks now. I'm pretty sure it's allergies because I have no body aches, no tiredness and I never got the sore throat that usually preceeds a cold. And....I'm a teacher so I get a helluva lot of colds!
I haven't had bad allergies in several years, and they're presenting differently than they used to. This time I have a blocked ear! It's making me nuts! It feels like when you're in an airplane and your ear needs to "pop" but nothing is making that happen! It doesn't hurt, but it's affecting my hearing and annoying the bejezus out of me!
I don't have a question...just complaining.

Sounds about par for the course. I take Allegra every day and use a Neti pot as needed. You might try the latter.

When you press lightly on your "ear flap" does it make the plugged up feeling worse? I have constant nasal drip (drives me NUTS, esp. when riding) and I'm not sure if it's all related but I ended up having too much wax buildup and had it flushed out at the doctor's office. Made that issue MUCH better...but the nose still runs like a tap!

I'm wary of the neti pot when I'm having ear issues. It tends to drive more stuff into the ear canals.
You've got my sympathy. I HATE the head-encased-in-cotton feeling of an ear infection. Best thing I can suggest is a heating pad directly over the ear, and postural drainage (lying on your side with the plugged ear up - alternating sides, if it's both ears :().
