While I am not especially a Royalist, I did catch a glimpse of the ceremony on TV a short while ago, William and Kate looked fabulous, as did Harry with that cheeky grin. :D

I suspect the atmosphere in London must have been absolutely phenomenal, perhaps because of the sad death of his Mother, most people have a soft spot for William.

Anyway, the couple looked so very happy and long may it last.

Just wondered how people the other side of the pond viewed all the pomp and ceremony surrounding it all?

I haven't paid much attention to the couple before today, but I have to say that every photo I've seen of her she looks gorgeous, and so happy! Beautiful couple :) William looks entranced, like he should be.

Oh, and I loved those little boys in their miniature parade uniforms, behind the bridesmaids :)

I had forgotten about it, but little Twiggy decided I needed to get up right at 6 this morning, so we watched a good deal of it before I went to work.

What a gorgeous bride. I loved the dress. So perfectly elegant, and she looked so relaxed and happy. It set a great mood for what turned out to be a beautiful day.

I saw the ceremony, not all the before stuff. I also saw the carriage ride to the palace.
I think it's interesting from a historical perspective. They do seem very down to earth; as down to earth as people in their position can be!

I'll second everything you said.

Fairytales can come true in real life.

I have to admit that I couldn't have cared less about all the hub-bub leading up to the wedding, but I LOVED looking at the photos. She is stunning, and so much like...well, a princess. I loved all the props to Di during the wedding (the flowers in her bouquet, the leaving out the word "obey" in the vows, Di's engagement ring, etc).

My three year old niece woke up and came down to the TV and her mother was watching it and my niece freaked out about being in her jammies, ran up to her bedroom and came back down wearing a cinderella dress she got for her bday last month. :)

I worked from home today and woke up early so I turned it on. I do have to admit I'm a sucker for all that pomp and circumstance. I loved that you could see that Harry and William have a really wonderful relationship. And Harry looked so excited for the couple. And William and Kate looked so very happy and in love. Not a bad way to start a day. :)

Of course my most favorite part was the flyover by the WW2 RAF planes - but then again my Dad was a WW2 RCAF pilot, so I may be a bit biased.

I really enjoyed watching bits of it (on tape delay; the ceremony was at 3 am on the west coast, ack). I'm a sucker for pageantry.

Diana & Charles' wedding was during the summer between my undergrad and grad school, and during that time I was working at a lab at the university in Uppsala Sweden, so I was able to watch that wedding in real time. It was a nice memory for me.

Have to admit that I looked at some web photos today at work. :o

It's good to have a fairy tale dominate the news instead of wars and tornadoes.

Everyone looked beautiful.

Oh, I loved it! I DVR'd it and sped through, but I had to watch. The whole story is such a breath of fresh air. They're in love, they're best friends, and they've taken their time preparing for the very public life they'll have together as a married couple.

And the wedding? Kate was absolutely gorgeous. And her sister was lovely, and her mother was, too. It was fun watching the wedding participants arrive in cars. Times do change, so traditions can bend a little bit to go along with the times. And I got so tickled watching Prince Harry, when he was supposed to be facing forward, look back and see Kate and then tell William "she's here now" (or that's what the news reported he said).

I wish them all the best. And I think Diana would be very proud.

I will admit I tried to ignor much of the hype before it and did sleep through it. However, when I got up this morning I tuned in to see what was going on. Actually tuned in just in time to see Prince William and Kate driving to the reception in the Aston Martin. I also did see some of the pictures. They do look like a happy couple and she looked beautiful.

On the other hand, my mom set her alarm so she would get up at 6am to watch the ceremony.

It was a beautiful wedding. They seem very happy. I hope they are blessed with many years together. With all the bad news swirling around, we can all use some pageantry and romance.

My 23 yr old daughter had a wedding party with a friend- they stayed up all night here watching (starting 1 am Arizona time), with fancy hats, sponge cake with jam, tea, (and I think a glass or two of wine). I woke up at 3:30 am for a drink of water and came out just in time to see them pronounced man and wife. Meanwhile, my daughter's boyfriend (who lives in England) was on Skype with his own personal running commentary....so it was kind of funny. I went back to sleep, but enjoyed viewing the photos this morning.

Watched the numerous replays this morning before going to work. They both look so happy.

I agree with bmccasland, a little fairy tale to brighten up the day. :)

Absolutely this. The car that Kate arrived in is the same one that was attacked by protesters last year (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/mobile/uk-12813268)when Charles and Camilla were travelling to the theatre. I adored Prince Harry, he simply could not look any more like a little brother, and the bond between him and William was lovely to see and did tear me up a little. I think she will prove to be a real credit to both the Royal Family and the UK. Every happiness to them both, a happy ever after marriage for the Windsors is very much overdue.

How adorable! I wonder if Kate pretended to be a princess when she was a little girl? If so, her dreams came true! She was an absolutely beautiful bride and they seem so very happy.
