DH and I are on Day Three of our vacation at Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks. Yesterday, we rented road bikes and spent most of the day going up and down Zion's scenic drive. Zion restricts traffic in the park from April to October, so we had the road to ourselves minus the Park shuttle. It was great, except that my butt did not like the saddle on my rental. The bikes themselves were quite nice though as rentals go. Fred at Zion Cycles fixed us up very well.
Today, we did an out and back on the West Rim Trail. We hiked approximately 13 miles in 7 hours. That includes a fair amount of elevation gain, too. I'm beyond tired at the moment, but it was well worth the effort (although my feet may not agree). Zion is truly spectacular. It's been lovely here minus one evening of rain. Pleasant temps, and the Park isn't very crowded. We have one more full day here before moving onto Bryce. I hope to post some pictures when we return. DH shot over 700 just today!
