I was perusing Craigslist today (it's dangerous for me to do so), and came across a vintage Specialized Sirrus (cromoly frame) that was very reasonably priced -- and the rest is history.
Here's my newest acquisition. I'll soon sell my vintage Fuji Palisade (12 speed, downtube shifters) to make room for the Sirrus.

Very very cool! Also, as a side note, I love how there are little baby bluebonnets at the bottom of the post the bike is leaning on. Not enough rain here for those this year!

No bluebonnets in Virginia. Those are muscari, otherwise known as grape hyacinth (originally from Armenia).
Nice bike, K!!

Thanks everyone. The bike, being a triple, has tons of gears and shifts like a dream (bar end shifters). The previous owner replaced the chain rings to get a higher range of gears for the rolling hills of Montgomery County, MD. His wife hardly ever used the bike, so it's seen very little road time.
The Fuji is a 12 speed with shifters on the downtube making it a little difficult to use with the arthritis I have developing in my thumbs. Sorry my beautiful robin egg blue Fuji but it's time to move on to a new owner.

Biopace chainrings, eh?! I had them on a bike in the late 80s (or was it early 90s?) They were ovalized and supposed to help with leverage, but they fell out of favor. Will be interesting to see what you think of them!
It's a very pretty bike!

:)Congrats!! It is a beautiful bike, and I have no doubt that you will enjoy every minute on it!!
Bye, bye Fuji :(
And I admit to looking at bikes on CL once a week. I don't know why I torture myself as I don't need another bike (nor do I have room for one), but I look anyway.

I never thought I'd hear someone bragging about having biopace chain rings :)

DB, I was just telling Cataboo yesterday that I had reached a point of satisfaction with the bikes I currently have. Ooops, then the Sirrus caught my eye today and I lost control.
Emily, yes I'll be curious to see how the Biopace chainrings work for me. Hopefully tomorrow I can get out and take a long ride on the bike. The 10-12 miler I did this afternoon was very impressive.

Congrats! We had a very similar one in the LBS the other day, I was impressed with the frame. My first adult bike had bar end shifters and I liked them way, way more than downtubes...have fun!

Congrats on the new bike!
And well, if you actually do sell the Fuji, let the doc know ;) - I've been thinking of maybe buying an old bike to keep in your area for my occasional visits, and for sure a couple of friends could use it the rest of the year...
