Is the serial number typically on the bottom of the bottom bracket? I registered my Gunnar on Waterford's website last night and that is the only number I could find... Just checking that I didn't miss something obvious.

I also registered my bike on the National Bike Registry. When I sold my bike at a local bike consignment shop they mentioned that many people don't keep their serial numbers in an easily accessible place. So when their bikes get stolen they can't find where they kept their serial number written down.
In Portland, OR bike consignment shops have to keep your bike for two weeks and check it against local police dept. Reports of stolen bikes, so as not to be selling stolen bikes.

partial hijack:
on my C'dale, the serial number is (was) on a sticker, that fell off. Not stamped or riveted anywhere.
I still have the number recorded, but it's nowhere on the frame - no way to ID it in case of theft.
What's up with that???

Ditto on my C'dale. I bought it last year, so it hasn't fall off "yet, " but I was wondering about that. Don't know if it's because it's carbon? There has to be somewhere they can put a more permanent number.

I did not know there was a National Bike Registry! I will register all three of my bikes, thank you for the information.
