I approached mountain biking with absolute fear and trepidation, as my first attempts were on trails I wasn't ready for. Yesterday we got on a large chain of connected dirt roads and it opened up a whole new world for me. I had said to the husband previously, that I would never enjoy mountain biking as much as road, but I have experienced a paradigm shift. Can't wait to get back out again!

I'm glad you had a good time. It sounds like so much fun! What did you learn about yourself?

To give myself a chance to learn something new, it doesn't always start out easy but it gets better.:o

Yay for you!!!!:D:D

I haven't ridden my mtn bike in 3 years (since I crashed badly). I should have gotten back on the next day to squish the fear, but one day turned to 3 years- and now I'm terrified of that bike. Inspired by you, I think I will try to ride one day this week- the easy trail, not the technical scary stuff I crashed on.

Did you get to play on any singletrack?? Is there any out there for you that's flat n non technical?

I get really really bored of trail trail stuff & don't do it very often. The only time i'll do any riding on a rail trail type thing is if it's a link to something technical.

If i do a dirt ride-it has to have technical sections, singletrack, uphill and similar to a course we'd do an event on.
