If you're a new cyclist, this article is a friednly intro to the consequences of "dooring" http://www.nzherald.co.nz/accidents/news/article.cfm?c_id=13&objectid=10716564

For all those that aren't new to cycling, a good reminder to keep those eyes open..

Just found another link from Bicycle Vic. http://www.bv.com.au/general/bikes-and-riding/92843/

I am saddened by the sheer vitriol and hatred in so many of the comments to that first article. Honestly. That's really distracted from an informative article. I hope the musician man is better soon.

I always try to give at least a door's width when passing parked cars, especally when I have the trailer on the back.

Never ever ever read the comments.
People can be real bu77heads when they're anonymous.

Right- most comments I suspect are written by wise cracking teens in their little bedrooms in their parents' house, eager to sound tough and 'worldly'. others are written by guys who have never progressed beyond their high school immaturity level. They all only wind up sounding like morons, but they don't see it. Anonymous comments can't be given the time of day, and many sites are now disabling them.

Wow, better editorial and more vicious comments than here. Who'd a thunk it?
