I took my Trek Hybrid into the LBS to have my front brake fixed... I goofed it up trying to do it myself.
The shop keeper recognized that I had recently bought the bike and asked if I had put a lot of miles on it. I said that I've had the bike since late July and have put like 537 miles on. To me that's a lot. I said that I was kicking around the notion of shopping for a roadbike next spring. He says, "So soon?" It's like he tries to talk people out of bikes.
He sells Giant. I was going to get a Cypress LX or DX. But, he didn't have the higher model anymore, couldn't say if he was going to order any in and the other he didn't know if he had much to offer as far as color. He just doesn't seem to care if he sells stuff or not. I find the man intimidating. Though, he fixes my bike and doesn't seem to charge outrageous prices, so I'm glad that he's in town. I pick up things from him every so often... if not my bike.
