Thought I'd start a thread since some of my favorite races are coming up. Next Sunday is Tour of Flanders. My favorite. I'm routing for Boonen, but I think Fabian will win.

Can't wait. :D We're getting it live free-to-air this year, so it's a late night but easier than streaming. A lot of disrupted sleep for the next few months, hehe. Besides Fabian/Boonen/Gilbert etc, I think Haussler is hungry after Milan-San Remo. But who knows what surprises the cobbles may bring.

I bought my car 8 years ago, because of Milan-San Remo. The brochure featured my car on the streets, interspersed with pictures of the race. That was it. The other 2 I had test driven didn't matter...
I watched the Criterium International on Sunday. It was nice to hear Phil's voice in my house.

Haha... I bought a Saturn way back when... I admit that part of my decision was because they sponsored a team at the time. Car turned out to be a hunk of junk though.

This is funny, the same thing happened to me.
I always drove convertibles, and never thought I would buy a different kind of vehicle. Then, a couple of years back they kept showing the new Saab wagon during the Tour de France, and it looked so easy to transport bicycles in that car. Funny enough, the time came to buy a new car, and I went and got myself one!

Back on topic - yes I cannot wait for the Tour de Flandres and Paris-Roubaix, and very much hope that Mr. Cancellara is planning to repeat a good day on both races!!!

GO FABIAN!

That was a nail biter! All I can say is Chavanel has proven once again to have quite a heart. I don't care if he didn't win. Brilliant ride.

Congratulations Nuyens.

It's a sad day in my house for two Spartacus lovers :(

Less than half an hour till Paris Roubaix on Versus! 3 hours of coverage. Heaven, I'm in heaven.

That was a great race! I almost cried when Johan Van Summeren asked his girlfriend to marry him after the race. I am always happy for the winner, but that was something special. He rode his heart out. I've heard his name a bunch, but this is the first time I really got to see or hear him, and for that I feel lucky. Charming guy.

Poor Sylvain. Hard crash. I hope he's okay.

I watched the whole thing, but I was falling asleep, so I missed the marriage proposal.
Those crashes, oy. That seemed like the hardest race I have ever watched.

And he said he'd ridden the last 5k on a flat tire. Amazing!

Very happy to see Johan take the win, after years of riding his guts out for Lotto etc. Some lovely pix, different to the usual sites, here. (http://www.flickr.com/photos/kristoframon/sets/72157626331909955/detail) A Dutch friend is heading off to watch Amstel Gold next week, which takes in some of his training routes. So jealous!
