Dh and I are discussing how to jazz up the bike I'm eyeing. Didn't someone post a beautiful pink and purple bike a while ago? I thought I saved a photo but can't find it. Any help is appreciated.

Don't know about wheels, but I have purple Michelin Pro Race, and Schwalbe and Continental Grand Prix 3000's, both in hot pink! (The Scwalbe are available right here at TE!)

Would it be Surly's purple Orbea with the pink Velocity rims? The Orbea also comes in pink.

Thats my baby and the rims are by Velocity. You can see them in the pic or you can go to their site. People stop me when I'm riding all the time and tell me how sweet they are. Thanks SadieKate for the link.

Surly, did you see the disc-specific Velocity rims I just bought? I assume the pink is the same as your road rims. Without the braking surface, there is a LOT of pink. They're hanging on the pot rack in the kitchen right now. You know you're in a cylist's house when they have bike stuff hanging in the kitchen. :rolleyes:

No - black with flames makes you go faster. Pink makes you get pushed up big hills! :rolleyes:

and Surly: I saw your bike outfit this morning (no coveting Cali!) A purple and pink cyling jacket with purple tights and pink gloves. Made me think if you right away my friend!

no.... no coveting! i'm not really into pink! lol! i agree about black making you faster!!!!! :cool:

CM, you know I have TWO bikes that are black with pink flames - what does that mean???

And, inquiring minds want to know - where we can get a purple and pink jackets and tights????

black with pink flames means you'll get pushed up big hills Really Fast!!

and I saw her again this morning - she passed right in front of me but was wearing headphones and didn't even acknowledge I was sitting there! (things that make you go "hmmmm" :eek: )

Hey, I'm getting razzed and I didn't even know it. SadieKate, I saw your gorgeous rims and they look almost the same as mine. Now if the darn rain would just stop I might actually be able to use them.
As for the rest of you wise ** es. :p I won't mention any names CORSAIRMAC. I do not get pushed up the hills around here, I just take them slowly. ;) The purple is the fast color!!!
The purple tights, pink and purple coat and gloves, well that might be a little much. I don't want to look like someone puked confetti all over me. :eek: I am drooling over the new Descente Shelter Jacket at Colorado Cyclist though. It looks purple in the pic. If anyone sees it in real life let me know if its purple or pinkish please.

Surly, this is what Grog had to say about another Descente jacket. Wonder if it the same color? She didn't elaborate on the material issue.


Ok well, the Descente Axiom Vest/Jacket doesn't seem to do it.

(I just received it though, fast shipping, great job TE ladies!)

I was a bit disappointed with the color. It's really more purple than blue, and won't really fit any of my other gear. I don't really like the way it looks, nor do I really trust the material... Just a bad feeling. I won't wait to wear it on a Vancouver wet day and be disappointed. So I'll try the Gore Passion Plus now. Thanks for the hint JmcG.

Thanks SadieKate for the info. Its always hard to tell on-line what the color, material etc actually are. I think I'll hold till I see one, its way to expensive to just wing it.
