I'm discussing via email a used Trek FX. The seller doesn't seem to know if it's WSD. Does anyone know if that is marked on the frame?

It might depend on the model year since they seem to have changed the decal schemes around a bit, but on my 2008 7.2, there's a decal of a stylized "W" with "WSD" below it. It's on the seat tube.

I have a 2009 7.2fx, and yes, it says WSD on the seat tube. It'd be hard to mistake, though, because it's this one:

and the flowers are a dead giveaway.

If they have a picture of it, you can go to bikepedia and see whether it's wsd or not. Colors are different than the regular. I've purchased a few of these, maybe you can just put the pic up here and we can tell you?

I don't have an FX, but I do have a 2007 2100 WSD and there is a decal just below the saddle on the seat tube that indicates "WSD".

Sometimes those stickers come off or are unreadable. Like uforgot mentioned, if there is a pic you can compare, but the WSD has a very distinctive angle to the top tube.

Good luck!!

WSD or not, if it fits, it's good. If the seller knows how to measure the bike properly you can compare the geometry. One, to what your ride needs to be in general. Two, on Trek's website it has the geo for both men and women's. Pretty close, but usually smaller scale on ladies stuff. Good Luck:).

What are they asking? I just saw one go up on CL for 350. Sounds steep for a 2008. Would this make a good bike for crushed limestone paths?

The fx prices on Craigslist are ridiculous. Some are only $150 less than retail for the new model. So not a good buy at all, considering the LBS offers free lifetime tuneups.

The latest guy never returned my email so I guess he sold it. Grrr, Craigslist bike shopping is frustrating.

Thanks for the answers here because there will be another one, I'm sure.
