I never thought I would say this - but this is the first time that I have had so much fun on the bike when there was so much wind! I was even riding into the wind and had the greatest time - even going uphill! That last one I can't figure out because it actually felt like I had a tailwind no matter what direction I was facing :D There was a small piece of my route where there was a crosswind but that seemed the only exception. This was in Eagle Creek Park for those familiar with Indy.
A strong wind gust blew some dead limbs down on my head and the road in front of me... I honestly don't know how I stayed up - but I did - and continued on. I won't be able to look at wind in quite the same way again :)
In the end I rode just over 10 miles and my average mph was over 13 - first time that has ever happened - thanks to the wind :) I would have loved to have ridden further, but I can't ride too long on weeknights or the endorphins keep me from sleeping.
