DH and I have a problem. It's a nasty collection starting in our home. We started by inviting one... then two into our home... now they outnumber us.
I have one bike in the trainer here in the living room and one... two.. three bikes in the dining room... so it's a good thing we don't normally have formal dinners at the dinner table!
I also have one more bike down in the basement that may be going to a new home soon... but in the last few months our home has defiantly seen an influx in two wheeled modes of transportation.
Mine - Specialized Ruby Elite Roadie
Mine - Trek FX 7.3 Hybrid
DH - Trek 2.1 Roadie
DH - Trek FX 7.5 Hybrid
Mine - Trek Pure Sport Cruiser
I guess there could be greater issues to deal with :)

Really, that's not so bad. :D
I have 3 road bikes.
Thom has two road bikes.
We both have mountain bikes and a tandem.
And I KNOW there are people on this forum with even more. :D There are far worse things to be addicted to.

I think we're up to 11 bikes in our home, so I understand where you're coming from.
Me: Raleigh mixte circa 1983 (my first "road" bike when I was 13); Trek 7.5 FX; Bianchi roadie, Moots roadie, Jamis Aurora touring bike, and Specialized Myka Sport MTB.
DH: vintage Raleigh fixie, Jamis roadie, Jamis Aurora, Specialized Hardrock MTB, Mongoose rigid MTB.
He's in the market for a 29er, and I'm hoping to sell the Moots at some point, so it'll hopefully be a wash.

We'll be at 8 as of Wed..
Me: Road Bike, Mtn Bike, grocery bike, Track bike
Dude: Road, Mtn Bike, folding bike,
We share my old mtn bike that's been converted to a single speed. My dear loves it so much that he prefers it over his road bike . If i want to use it, i have to spend ages getting it back to my set up.
We're running out of room for our bikes

hmmm, so if/when I start thinking about getting a mountain bike - I can come back and look at this thread to justify getting a third bike  :D

I have 4, with plans to get rid of 2. One is an old sears/puch lady's 10-speed (too small), an old motobecane road bike (keeping), 2006 cannondale F300 mountain bike (giving to sister) and the Salsa Fargo (LOVE IT!!!)
Thank goodness my house came with a "garage" that no longer has a garage door (just a wall) - perfect place for the bikes to live.

We're up to 14 between my hubby, our 10 year old son, and I...but if we only count "functional" or used-on-a-regular-basis bikes it's more like 5-6, including a road tandem. DS and I are both dying for CX bikes, though, so our count could go up to 7-8 were money no object.

As of today (sold my MTB), we are now *down* to five bikes...from a high of 8 a couple of years ago. Considering we live in a small apartment with no garage, five is enough!

That's the scary part....10 of them do get routinely used, depending on the ride. The beater singlespeeds were just built up....time will tell how much they get used for grocery runs and the like. The last one is DH's first "real" mountain bike that I don't think he'll ever part with :)

See, I think that's better than all of the random bikes we have that we rarely or never use. We don't have room for all this clutter, but DH can't bear to part with his "babies." Not even the $200 thrift store tandem mountain bike with "ditch-seeking steering."

Let's see
hubby has a road bike and 3 mountain bikes
I have 2 mountain bikes and a road bike
We do need to sell my old mountain bike and his oldest mountain bike. (My old mountain bike is too big for me and I've never been comfortable riding it, so it really needs a new home).

Lightweights...
I've got 13 bikes and frames - two mountain, the rest road. BF has about 11. And we're thinking about moving in together. Any good ideas on how to store 24 bike so they're kinda out of the way? ;)

You could store a couple of smaller CX bikes at my house.... :D
lol @ "ditch seeking steering"!
I have my Marin comfort bike, my Specialized mountain bike, small girl has a balance bike and we should have a trailer by the end of the week. We have a double garage with the cars on the drive, so plenty of space. dh might get a bike at some point although he's perfectly happy riding my Marin. I'd like a Pashley in a few years, but for the moment I'm happy.

Hello, my name is Catherine and I am a bicycle addict. I have a lovely touring bike, a beautiful custom Gunnar will hopefully come home on April 15, and I am starting to cast covetous gazes upon mountain bikes :o ;) :D
There are worse addictions that are far less fun....but I will not buy a mountain bike before the women's mountain bike clinic, I will not buy a mountain bike before the clinic, I will not...
It may not be this year, but I have a sneaking suspicion that I will have no choice :) At least they are coming out with smaller mountain bikes, so there shouldn't be a need for a custom bike this time!

...but what will you ride at the clinic? Just teasing, and how wonderful that your new bike will be here so soon.

They have free mountain bike loaner/rentals available, which is great! The LBS providing them has my measurements on file from a fitting they did early last year so it will fit :)
