I came across an article about a woman who rode through Afghanistan and she has a vision to help women and girls attain equality and is working through a collaborative effort to educate and train them in hopes of becoming productive individuals. Surprisingly the men are often more curious about her than not and have not threatened to silence her through death. This woman is simply amazing and where she rides trumps any mountain bike trail in the world. I think of her as Amelia Earhart on nobbies. :)

she has more cojones than i ever have had or will have...
This is very cool.
I do want to point out that Dervla Murphy crossed large parts of Afghanistan on a single-speed bicycle in 1961 or 1962, on her own. She is really, really awesome. You can read her first book Full Tilt, or one of her numerous subsequent books:

Dervla Murphy is my heroine. Talk about living life well and with compassion for others because she makes a serious attempt to explain to readers some complex socio-political problems in certain areas where she cycles.
