A few months ago on this site, some of you that sew your own clothes mentioned places to buy the type of fabric needed for jerseys. I'm ready to get back to my sewing machine, and would appreciate any info about fabric. I live in Ontario, Canada, so to be cost effective Canadian places might be best. Thanks for any help Paintgirl

Thanks for the great information, I went to that site, and found what I wanted at Textile Outfitters. It is still cold and rainy here, so have more time to sew than I really want.where is spring?? Thanks again Paintgirl

I've been on jersey making jag, the GreenPepper pattern is really nice, I like it a lot better than the unisex one from Jalie. This is fourth one I've made this spring
here's the latest creation, wicking supplex lycra with swimsuit lycra inserts, shorts are 9 0z beefy lycra

Wow, very nice! Why doesn't your company sell new stuff you make (or do you)?

So how do I order one? That's beautiful. Seriously Thom and I would like to get coordinating Jerseys for the tandem but we're not into the really garish (our opinion) stuff that's been coming out lately from the maunfacturers.

Yep - notice I also said coordinating. We're not into being totally matched. We noticed on one tandem ride we did that all the other couples matched exactly - even their helmets. I wondered which one of them had given up a good fit to look alike. I know in our case, our heads are shaped too differently to even wear the same brand of helmet!
Of course all the couples had their picture in the paper and we didn't. :p Oh well.

I'd never gotten one before. :) Funny it doesn't automatically come up when you check for new messages. Thanks for the heads up.

This is great! I spent part of my day yesterday looking at sewing websites and finding patterns for real biking shorts! Since my husband is quite tall and I have some sizing differences I'm excited to find some patterns that I can alter.
I have a question, do you have to order fabric all the time or do you find it retail-ever? We are very interested in finding some 9 oz. lycra, but we have a limited number of stores to buy any kind of fabric. I don't mind ordering, though.

the link is working just fine for me, can anyone else tell me if it's not working for them as my ISP has had major problems this week.
anyway, do a web search on any of the following on google or any other search engine
I only know one of the numbers off the top of my head.
Green Pepper Fabrics Oregon

Sometimes even Jo-ann chain stores sell the patterns.

I got my pattern from "Green Pepper", found some fabric at a retail store, but have misplaced my good scissors! The store even had some lightweight, four-way stretch fleece for tights. My DH, who is 6'7" is very excited thinking about bike duds that fit!
