Hope to find somebody on this site, who lives near:

Jimi Hendrix Commemorative Statue
900 E. Pine Street
Seattle, WA 98122

I am desperately after a post card of the statue and other small item, from a possible shop in the vicinity.

It's just a little something for Easter for my now nine year old Grandson, who is mad on Hendrix music. Probably in the region of $16.

I have a PayPal account, so it is nice and easy to send the money, providing somebody is happy enough go to the trouble of buying it, packing it up and posting it to me in the UK.

Fingers crossed. :)

I live about 10 blocks away! I'd be happy to get you something. I'm not sure about postcards... I don't know if I've ever seen one, but I can look. I can take a photo for sure. There's a Utrect art shop in the building right now, but there are several places that sell 45's (records!) in the area that I might be able to find a Jimi Hendrix record at maybe?

Cheers for replying so soon Eden and Mr Bloom.

It's not just a fad with him, he's been into Classic Rock for about five years and playing his guitar for two years. In fact he has just got his Busker's Licence and intends going along to our local shopping area this Saturday, obviously with his Dad. My Grandson wants to raise money for children in Chernobyl, so that they can come over to the UK for a month, it actually puts several years on their lives too.

Chernobyl Children’s Life Line, a children’s charity which was founded in 1991. Belarus, where most of our work is focused, received over 70% of the radioactive fallout from the Chernobyl nuclear explosion in April 1986 and as a result, thousands are born every year or go on to develop thyroid cancer, bone cancer and leukaemia.

Thought it might be nice to see who you where getting this for, so click on the middle of the pic, this was taken about a year ago, with his then new full size 'Flying V'.

I imagined there would be lots of sourvenir type things in the area but equally I would be more than pleased with some good pics of the statue or any magazines there might be or even a couple of guitar pics from the USA but please do not go to too much trouble over this.

Thanks in advance. :)

What about at the Experience Music Project? We went on our Seattle trip but I can't remember what was in the gift shop. They had a large Hendrix Exhibit at the time. I miss Seattle.

I'll see what I can find - It's certainly no problem to take some pics - It's my neighborhood and I'm in the area often.

This is actually pretty fun -I don't think I realized before that I kind of live in the middle of young Jimi land... He grew up about a 1/4 mile away and the club he used to play at a lot as a teenager was right at the end of the street I live on - about a block and a half away.

I've got a little idea going here... I have a couple of little photo albums that someone gave me that I've never used. I'll put together a little then/now scrap book of the places Jimi used to frequent, since most of them are within walking distance of my house.

OMG............I am not worthy to be speaking to you, actually living in the middle of Jimi Land.

It sounds absolutely perfect what you intend doing, something very special, I have already told my grandson and he is very pleased.

Cheers Eden. :)

WOW, Eden produced the most amazing photo album of the area that Jimi Hendrix grew up in, fortunately where she lives.

The photos were absolutely brilliant, she made the whole album so interesting, even wrote background info on each page.

Plus she located a 45 record of an unreleased song, a super plectrum and a sticker from a local guitar shop (who also gave a set of guitar strings).

How lucky was I, after only initially thinking about getting hold of a postcard!

Thanks again Eden. :)
