-a sunny day, came home from the gym, and noticed all the dust bunnies all over the floor. Swept, vacumed, ran the dry dust mop , dusted and when I turned around there were three fresh dust bunnies, in the middle of the floor. none of the animals had moved or created any fresh fur. I swear I could hear them all, animals and dust bunnies laughing at me. Must be getting close to spring, let's us blow our fur coats all over the house for days on end.

:D I feel your pain.
When spring starts and the golden retriever starts shedding we find "Jimbo tufts" all over the yard and house. It's like cotton balls blowing all around.
shakes my fist at the dust bunnies and fur tumbleweeds...

Living with a Black Lab, I have realized I need to accept dust bunnies as a part of life. Sometimes I even see small clumps on her that just come right out! I did purchase a rake-like comb that is awesome for getting the loose undercoat out.

+1! Those "Furminator-type" rakes are the best! My dog hates it though....
The dust bunnies at our house unionized a long time ago, and they got a pretty good contract. It's really hard to get rid of them now and out of solidarity I wouldn't want to do that anyway.

Well, when the bathtub ring starts refusing to cross the picket line is where I re-examine my politics.

the dust bunnies and I are all laughing, the cats and dogs who produce them are not, I think they dream of bionic dust bunnies.

I love my Furminator. I felt like I was buying an as-seen-on-tv product but it works.

Oh, the din of dustbunny laughter is downright deafening at my house.
And we own and use a furminator...

I found cat hairs are the ones that turn into dust bunnies. My dog's hair just laid where they fell as they were heavier than kitty fluff. I remember a few times when I felt this strange pin-prick sensation on the sole of my foot. When I look, sure enough, there's a black dog-hair poking into my skin!
I vacuum every day, but it's really just a losing battle.

Our yellow lab sheds enough to build a guinea pig most days. I don't know where she's getting all this extra fur. DH brushed her and vacuumed yesterday and I swear it looks like a wookie in our trash can this morning.

one of our dogs is a corgie. The joke is if you want a new rug, get a corgie and wait 3 months. Who knew a little 14 pound dog who is smaller than the cat could grow so much fur. As for cat fur, the Maine Coon has an incredibly dense and fine undercoat that sheds constantly, and with 22 pounds of cat, that's a lot of undercoat. The coarse straight corgie fur attracts the angora like Maine Coon fur and eventually felts into little vertical piles going from coarse on the botton to blow away fine at the top.

Well, at least yours are just the size of bunnies. The ones making multiple appearances in my apartment have morphed into dust dragons. Chloe blows out fur like it's her job (and I have a Furminator, too). The cats just seek me out, especially if I'm wearing black pants that day, to show affection, and deposit industrially stuck fur, just before I leave for work.
There's a secret sisterhood of the lintbrush/packing tape animal hair remover at my workplace.
