I'm off to Oregon in search of wily steelhead. I'll try to reach Jason over the weekend to get an update or ask if he's posted. Unfortunately, I'll be in the wrong part of Oregon to pick up the jerseys. Darn.

Neat idea.

I'll do that.

Could be even more cool if we get our picture taken with the jersey with a background that tells in what part of the world we are. I'll get my pic taken with the Vancouver skyline in the background, for example... What do you think?

I can't wait to get my package. I'm leaving on a jet plane Sunday with my oldest (HS senior) to look at colleges in New England (Philly, Amherst, Worcester) and returning Thursday evening. Wonder when my pkg will arrive in B'ham, Ala? Maybe by the time I get home? How EXCITING!!!

And btw, it finally dropped below 80 degrees down here. :) It has been so hot and dry, and now it's rained for a couple of days and actually going down into the 50s tonight. We are so grateful for cooler weather.

BACK ON TOPIC!

I got my jersey and armwarmers today. :D :D :D

I LOVE THE ARMWARMERS! The jersey is nice too, though I'm wishing I'd gotten a M instead of a S. I just can't get any bustier or saggier (!) for its life.

The armwarmers are soft and oh so silky. They looked short before I tried them on but they are OK...maybe it's the slick graphics.

Perhaps I'll go for a ride this PM just so I can wear my jersey!

:D

SadieKate
10-14-2005, 12:37 PM
Sorry, yellow, I was on the phone when you called back. How tight is it? The club cut is tighter than other Small voler jerseys? Is it tight if you are bent over the handlebars? Voler jerseys fit dramatically better when you are in a cycling position rather than standing straight.

I'm hyper-ventilating now.

aka_kim
10-14-2005, 01:28 PM
I got my shipment from Oregon HQ too! Everything looks great - the design and colors came out really well.

But one question for the fashionistas - is wearing the jersey, vest and arm warmers together too much?? (I'm not used to all this red.)

SadieKate
10-14-2005, 02:00 PM
I'm planning to wear it ALL! There can never too much red. OK, I'll pass on red tights.

However, maybe we better check with Cali.

BTW, does it fit? Geez, I'm panicking.

BTW, does it fit? Geez, I'm panicking. No need to panic.

The size small arm warmers are soft and warm, as expected, but also too small, as expected. I'm hoping to "borrow" the Pilot's mediums and give my smalls away.

The medium jersey fits well, and I like the club cut. The material is surprisingly sheer - as in, I guess I better wear something underneath .

The small unisex vest fits OK, a little tight around the hips.

Breathe.

Got mine today and it's too small. :(

It's a 3XL and fits fairly well through the body but the arms are so tight they put my hands to sleep (I've lifted weights for years so I guess the upper arms are not proportional).

If anyone wants a 3X, let me know.

Got my jersey today. Colors and pattern are outstanding! The size is, however, too small. Got the club cut in large, and it is tight through the chest, shoulders, arms and snug through the body. Would love to sell my large and buy an extra large if one is available.

Wow, the jerseys came out fabulous!

The wms medium short-sleeve club cut fits me pretty much perfectly, yay ! And it looks stylin' :)

The wms med sleeveless race cut is, um, okay - I hate that lower elastic though ! I can get used to it, maybe, or take remedial measures (snip!)

The wind vest is particularly striking, but like Kim, I ordered a unisex small and I wish I went with the medium - it's way too snug in the hips for my liking, rats! So I might be parting with that, reluctantly.

Great job SK, snap, spazz - a beautiful design!

And thanks to the good people at Oregon HQ for sending them out so promptly!

SadieKate
10-15-2005, 07:48 AM
I'm going to take my race cut sleeveless off to the alterations folks for those remedial measures. Probably same with the vind vest but the vest does have a double zipper so it can be opened from the bottom a tad.

Reporting in from Oakland - the jersey and arm warmers are bee-u-tee-ful!

I ordered the 3X and it is pretty darn snug - my bulges are a little too well-defined! - but I'm hoping in another couple thousand miles, it will look better on me. So maybe I'll post a photo of me in the jersey then! Likewise the large armwarmers are a little tight, but definitely wearable now, and they look great!

BTW - who is "twintheory.com" on the back of the collar?

Well done guys! Great design!

But for fun we could make up some vast conspiracy theory thing - who wants to start? :DWell, there's the 'vanishing twin' theory which Tyler Hamilton tried to use in his defense...

I concur with Snap, I believe the owners of Twin Theory are SK's neighbors, and helped clean up the original AV logo for no fee.

You guys are too funny.

Yes, Twin Theory folks are my neighbors, puppysitters and friends. They provided a vast amount of unpaid cleanup work on the logo and lots of general design consulting. Couldn't have done it without them. Maybe they can get a little business in return.

Repeat from another post:

Just to let everyone know, snap and I have been kicking around the idea of sending in a new order. This means we have to have a min of 25 items ordered. It may be a long shot but we'll be cooking up the plan in the next couple of days and I have to call Voler about their production schedule.

It would help to know who might be interested in a jersey (shortsleeve or sleeveless) or a windvest.

We'll also set up a list of folks who want to sell or trade for a different size.

I have a couple extra pairs of size small arm warmers. If someone wants to buy them ($29) let me know.

I didn't place an order because I (Like many of us) have odd sizing. If another order is placed can we somehow consolidate the fitting info?

1) Call Voler for schedule
2) Start wish list for new orders
3) Payment plan for new orders
3) Arm warmer sizing for LBTC
4) Sizing list for jerseys so folks can better guess sizing
5) Items for trade or sale list

Thanks for the great feedback everyone. During Foxy's Fall Century yesterday, we had riders we'd never met remarking on them. Felt good.

No trademark problems. Totally made up by me. The chainring is simply a silhouette of a Dutch chainring and the guy who took the pic and make the silhouette gave us permission to use it anyway we want. His project started with tatoos also.

Lol. Nice to know I'm not the only one. I was looking at the measurements for some of the armwarmers on TE and thinking "sheesh - I need three different sizes for my arm!" I guess it's better to have them be too loose at the wrist than too tight at the top.

If you have internet service you usually have access to tools to build your own website. Mine's a work in progress, nothing like V's or Spazzdogs but easy to learn how to do.

Just go to

https://home.pacbell.net/pagetools/cgi-bin/homebase.cgi

or

http://home.pacbell.net

click on "page manager"

that will get you a window that's password protected

you put in your userid and scroll throught the drop down menue to find what's after the "@" , pacbell.net, nevadabell, prodigy, sbcglobal.net, littleceasarspizzahomedepot.net whatever you have from us.

Non SBC customers you're sorta on your own but you probably have your own program.

at this point you have a choice:
if you know how to use html you can import your html files done elsewhere and they are stored there.

don't know html? don't despair.

Click on "page creator" and follow the directions to create a homepage or lots of them and voila, you're on the web. the good news about "page creator" is you don't need to learn html.

the bad news is you're pretty much locked into a specific format of headline, graphic, text, link, more text....you can import any background or graphics but you're locked to the design grid.

You can click on my homepage for an example of what you can do, it's a work in progress, I apologize in advance for any spelling errors etc.

Also there's no tech support....there's a faq sheet, and some bulletin boards or user groups I think....and for you, you lucky gal you, me.

the one tip i want to share right off the bar is that your first page would be called "index" (this will make more sense when you do it.)

you have near unlimited storage now so can add and link pages to your little hearts content.

but I've learned that, once you build a page or make changes to it there will be a radio button on the bottom where you save it

that takes you to another screen which invites you to save it and reminds you that once you do that the previously created page is gone

then you want to click on the option to view the page
open it up and "refresh".

if you don't refresh it stays at the previously saved version.

Wow! Great job ladies! I love this new jersey, and it fits really well! (Actually a Small could have done the trick but it's still okay.)

I'm going to wear it RIGHT NOW, rewarding myself for having been a good girl and doing all the readings for tonight's class in advance!

I'll get my picture taken in it against the Vancouver skyline soon!

p.s. Wow! This is a fast jersey! I'm not sure if it's the "Fast Friends" printed on my back, but I peaked at 52.4 km/h on that very short ride! (Don't ask me about my heart rate...... ) Ok maybe that 30 km/h tailwind somewhat helped... :p

My NEW jersey got its first ride on Sunday, October 16th. I went up Mines Road (off the Cinderella route outside of Livermore near that neat house as the road turns slightly to the left)- 64 miles later and a great ride!

Now for some pictures and more rides.

THANKS TO ALL OF YOU FOR YOUR HARD WORK AND PERSERVERANCE. :) :) :) :) :) I feel honored to ride in such a beautiful jersey designed by this wonderful caring group!

yeah - but can you spell Albuquerque?? :p
hmmm....quizzed my oldest offspring (8) and "Albakerky" seems to be the consensus. :p
I don't think he's had that on the spelling list yet.
heehee :D :D

AWESOME jersey, gals! Spazz, Snap, Sadiekate (hope I'm not forgetting anyone)...you make a good team. It came when I was in Maine, and I couldn't wait to see it! I actually haven't tried it on yet (too dang busy), but it will be my wardrobe for Saturday's ride, for sure. Looks like it will be ok...I do well with mediums, usually.

too cute - and I think it SHOULD be spelled that way - it would be so much simpler!

My new arm skins got their first ride today. It was unexpectadly foggy when I set out for work (what happened to the sun? ) but I was warm and cozy in my arm skins. :)

I'm not a big fan of Seinfeld but who was that guy who Elaine worked for at the catalog and the pithy write ups he'd do about their hats, shirtswhatever? I'm hearing him reading that ;-)

Reviews are in, the homeless guy at BART likes them .... and says he likes my shoes.

I now realize I need Amici Veloci socks to go with the rest of my ensemble, or maybe the problem is that most of my socks are blue. Anyway, DeFeet does custom... maybe we could have AV socks by the holidays. Please Santa Kate!

no they don't.

we need socks! and matching team bikes (MTB, TT, cross, road and a 'bent for Corsaire), and the team support car, and a trailer with a masseuse (really need that) and media tent and a team chef....and....and.... :) and Chris Charmichael Hill Slug training programs, and a winter training camp and the shorts with a saying across the butt...and and we need...

ok, socks

Sure, you going to buy the necessary 250 pairs? Hey, how about shoe covers to go with the TT bikes. Only the BEST teams were matched down to their toes (go look at some of the TdF photos of the TTT).

SK - how many shorts do we have to order?

SadieKate

Only 25. But nobody is writing nuttin' across my posterior. You can write all you want down the saddle bags but not the gluteous maximus. It can't take the maximization. What was AG's word? Zoomability? We don't need permanent zoom mode on it.

I got my jersey a couple days ago! Awesome work ladies!!!
Was going to wear it today for a picture, but it's pretty cold and rainy out. :(

"Climb this" - LOL
Okay, so no graphics on the butt, but can there still be the massuse? :D

Yes! that's him. "It was unexpectadly foggy when she clipped in to roll out for work. But she was warm and cozy in Amici Veloci arm skins with matching socks (item 41b page 12). As the pedals turned she looked forward to the massage from the team masseuse after dinner in the team bus."

LOL - maybe I should have some of these. Perhaps riders would not be so quick to pass me if they were trying to work out what I had written on my butt :D

I might be interested in those arm warmers, but I was worried they'd be too long (I am very short) and too tight at the same time. Any chance you can do some measurements for me and I'll think on it?Oops, sorry about the procrastination:

Here are the measurements lying flat on the table:

2 pairs of small: 16 3/4" long x 4 5/8"

1 pair of large: 17 1/2" long x 5 1/2"

Lemme know.

Corsair don't do no bents - at least on bikes! ;)

(oh dear - I do seem to be feeling fiesty again today)

ROFLMAO - OMG that was hilarious. Course if I get the team masseuse then I guess I won't need to advertise my - well I better not go there!

Hey -- Which arm warmer goes on the left arm; which one goes on the right? Or are we leaving that up to artistic preference? BTW, I LOVE that they are different!!

SadieKate

Well, Voler recommends that you wear them so they can be read by someone passing you when you have your arms out on the bars as seen below. But you can wear them any way you want. Bubba has not yet been fully trained to tell his sweetie when she has them on the wrong arms. :)
