So, after several months of searching, I finally found my first road bike. It's nothing flashy--a Scattante W-570. It's the first bike I've felt comfortable on right when I got on it. The guy laughed when I told him I have been riding a medium size men's Trek Navigator--I've always known it was too big for me. The 48cm W-570 fit like a glove. Even the saddle wasn't too bad (though I'm sure that will change once I go further on it). I paid for it today and am picking it up next weekend :D I didn't have time to wait for it today and the Performance Bike is a little over an hour from my house.

Anyway, yay!

Wow, it sounds like we are about the same size...how did you ever tolerate riding on a medium men's frame?! You poor thing...you deserve this new bike that fits you so well! Can't wait to see pics!

Picked up my bike yesterday. Spent today trying to get over my fear of mounting/dismounting now that I have a saddle that is the correct height (otherwise known as really high!). It came with pedals, but no cleats. So now I need to get some cleats and I think a new pair of cycling shoes is in order. I had SPD pedals on my Trek, so I'm not sure how hard the switch will be to the Look-type pedals.

Very pretty! FWIW, DBF says he didn't have all that much trouble switching from SPDs to his Look pedals. :)

Enjoy!
