A friend of mine ran the Twin Cities Marathon today, his first full marathon. I checked his results online and he did it under 4 hours.

I can bike 26.2 miles in 2 hours 10 minutes, 30.5 miles in 2 1/2 ish.

The winners of the marathon today... the guy ran it in 2 hours and 18 minutes... WOW, I only just squeak by him and I'm on a BIKE! crazy! I'm in awe. The woman ran it in 2:40 and they were both the second SLOWEST times.

I know that a person isn't supposed to compare themselves to others and just count themselves lucky that they're active... but WOW!

Yea... at the last triathlon I was at... it was 1/2 Ironman... the winner was that guy in the Gatorade commerical who "falls out" from not being properly hydrated, but who comes back to win the Ironman the next year... he finished it... with a 3:59.... my relay team finished in 6:11. OUCH!

Not to mention... my runner ran around a 11-12 minute mile... and there were so many people who were in the tri... swam 1.2 miles and rode 56 miles... to run 13 miles at 8-9 minutes a mile!

I am going to run a 1/2 marathon (13 miles) on 12-11-05.. and I am hoping for a 12 minute mile... that will have me running 2.5 hours. So... that guy would run 26 miles... to my 13! HA!
