True, I am talking about two turns with a screwdriver, but still. It's the first time I ever did anything to a brake, and it worked! The pad was rubbing the wheel, and now it isn't.:D

I used Bicycle Tutor as recommended by Oz and verified with Sheldon Brown. I'm not sure why, but doing even the simplest thing to my bike makes me so happy.

Congrats!!!!! I know how you feel. Last evening I was repairing a pinch flat. I have always been able to remove the tire from the rim, patch the tube, and get the tire about half way back on at which time, DH comes to the rescue. Works great as long as DH is around. Last night, I was able to get the tire back on by myself! So, I do know how you feel!!

+1. There's something very empowering about it. :) I love working on my bikes.

+ another. One of my new favourite places is in our cold garage with the radio and my bikes.

I need to get more comfortable doing things like this. I am going to start with taking my LHT to my LBS and have them watch/help me change my tire. I HAVE done it. Once. At Home. It Took 2.5 HOURS - most of that to get the last 6 inches back on the wheel - and it was on the Trek, not my LHT. I have weak hands, but I now have a bead tool and I want their assistance to learn the best way to do this that will work with my weak hands. I can't take that long on the side of the road...
