I've been trying a few streamlining drills that I found on Total Immersion's website and they're really helping my comfort and efficiency in the water, enough so that I'd like to buy a DVD. But which one?

Easy Freestyle, Perpetual Motion Freestyle, and O2 in H2O all look like they'd be helpful. Any recomendations for these or others?

Thanks!

Honestly, I'd go to one of their weekend workshops. It will cost some money, but the instruction and attention you get there is well worth the cost. Look at it as a vacation weekend where you get to meet other like minded people, learn some valuable swimming drills and tips, and get away from home for a weekend. It's not like you can watch the DVD while you are in the pool, and the instant feedback is very helpful. I went to one about 10 years ago given at Franklin & Marshall College and really enjoyed it. Of course I lived a lot closer back then. But they are offered all over the US so you can probably find one that isn't too far.

Or, look on their website for instructors/coaches who might be able to give individual or group lessons.

Workshops and lessons aren't on the financial table right now...which is why I'm looking at DVDs. That's not to say that I'll never do a workshop....just not right now.

I taught myself using the Easy Freestyle DVD and later did a 2 hour workshop including videotaping that helped pinpoint things I needed to work on. You can definitely learn a lot using the DVD and gentle consistent practice. The water gives you lots of instant feedback! The self-coaching Perpetual Motion series looks very interesting and I would probably go for that myself. It seems to have some "lesson plans" that you can use and would have the most up-to-date methods for learning the TI method. You might want to also check out the forum on their website. People post lots of helpful hints and revelations.

This is the kind of info that I need- thanks! I find myself leaning towards Perpetual Motion Freestyle, but Freestyle Made Easy is still under consideration...
