Ok kinda funny but I have a mold problem on my bike seat. If I leave it for a few days I come back to it being moldy. Not a ton but what the heck? I do live very close to the beach. Can I use bleach on my seat to stop this. It's not that old really.

If you have a dilute solution of Simple Green handy, try that.

Spray it onto a paper towel and use the dampened towel to scrub the seat. Then let it air dry.

I run into a lot of issues with mold and mildew in my apartment. If I wipe something once or twice with Simple Green, the mold and mildew just don't seem to come back. I've even used it on my (soggy) window blinds, and it keeps the goobers at bay for a good year or two.

Depends on the saddle whether you want to risk bleach on it, I guess. A 10% solution is what they usually recommend for mold. Wipe off all visible mold, spray it with the bleach solution, let it set for 15-20 minutes, wipe with a damp cloth.

I've done it with my husband's leather shoes and with my own motorcycle saddle, with no ill effects. I probably wouldn't use it on very dry leather (although I would think you could wipe off visible mold, treat the leather and then bleach). Personally I don't leave anything mold-prone in the garage if it's small enough to bring into the house.
