This may seem like a silly question, but how do I go about finding a bike fitter in my area? I'm new here and I don't know who is credible or where to even begin to look.

Thanks!

Do some homework first -- why do you want a fitter? What kind of riding are you doing and want to do? What issues are you having with fit? Use that to come up with some criteria to work with...

A lot of folks will find a fitter by listing their current city in a forum like this and asking for recommendations. You could also see if there's a local club and ask folks in that group. Visit the LBSs near you and see if there's one with a philosophy/vibe/attitude that matches yours, and use their fitter, or ask them who they would use.

And search for fitter/fitting threads here, lots of good information has been shared!

+1 for your local club. Fit is critical to competitive riders and they may well have a club pro who could advise.

You can also try the area-specific Places-to-Ride threads here and ask for recommendations.

Thanks, guys. I hadn't seen that forum for the area-specific info. I just wrote a post there.
