Hi,
Does anyone ride a Specialized Era?
If so, what do you think of it?
Thanks!

OMG...........bet you must cause a heck of a lot of accidents without realising it.........:D

You look fantastic with your bike.

Safe riding.

That dress is awesome.

So's the bike, but yeah...how many accidents have you caused out there? ;)

Yep, both the dress and the bike are both just plain awesome! Curious about that accident count though you may not know how many you have caused with that combination of smile, dress and bike ;)

Gnat, you look great, as does the bike.

You all are making me want to take up (easy, non-technical) mountain biking. This will not be a good thing for my wallet!

Tempting, isn't it? It is probably good that there is no way I can afford TWO new bikes this year :o Thankfully I can use a free demo at the mountain bike clinic this summer to get a little taste of it ;)

Do you have the aluminum or carbon frame?
I'm thinking of getting the aluminum. I wish I could get the carbon!
I used to ride a Giant Trance W.

What wheel set did you get? Also, about how much does your bike weigh?
Thanks! :)

Not meaning to hijack this thread, but what brand is your dress? I love running skirts, so wondering about biking skirts.

Heh, thanks for all the comments! I have no idea how many accidents I may or may not have caused, but I do know that the bike + dress combo has definitely gotten me compliments at least once an hour on the trails!

Winnielou, that's an aluminum frame Era. With the tubeless wheels, it's weighs in around 25 pounds.

Kerry, the dress is from Castelli, it cost me a small fortune but was worth every penny. Looks like TE now has the new version with elastic on the waist and a more A-line skirt shape: http://www.teamestrogen.com/prodCI_L10119.html

I was drooling over the Terry skorts and wrappers for a while, too, but I eventually discovered that you could hit up a trendy teenybooper store and pick up crazy miniskirts with elastic waists for cheap that are about the same length as the bike shorts inseam.

I have an Era. It's a great bike and helped me win a 24 hour race last summer! However, I am not sold on the women's geometry...

Ditto, I love my era.
But, it prompted me to learn to bleed my own brakes, they like to be bled so darn often. This is not necessarily a bad thing.
And after a year the rear shock died. I had to replace it and the brain, and then the replacement was a dud. Fortunately, I didn't have to pay for either.
Nonetheless I really love that bike. Now if our trails would just dry out.
I also love bike skirts, and am coveting that dress.
