I will be putting my deposit down on my Gunnar Sport in just under three weeks and am starting to think about color since I've probably settled on the Sport (once we make certain the geometry will work for me).
While pink isn't my favorite color, I found this Roadie in pink - isn't it beautiful!

While the pink is beautiful, this is even more attractive to me, I like the strong combination of red and black:

This is a beautiful color as well:

This red is to die for:

I found all of these images by looking for a particular picture of a beautiful 2-tone blue with swirls that I've found in the past. Decisions decisions, I WILL have to tell them what color I want, after all  :D

yum yum! Don't you have to pay extra for non current colors? I'm not a big fan of any of the current colors. These colors here are lovely!!

You're right, they are all beautiful colors. It will be a hard choice. But picking the color is part of the fun of going custom.

Yes, you do have to pay extra for something other than the current colors - which I am not a fan of. There are a variety of options, everywhere from $75 extra for a recent monthly color, to $275 for a 3 color fade from the full Waterford palate and everything in-between.
There are recent colors that I will certainly consider. Orange isn't one of my normal favorite colors but they have an Orange glow over sterling silver that is nice (5/2010) a Cinnamon candy over copper (2009), and assorted pearls. I suspect that I will settle on one of their recent colors, they are all available back until 2003. Sadly I can't provide links to the individual colors...anyway, I love rich vibrant colors :)
If I HAD to choose today, it would probably be either the Pearl in Black or the Purple Pearl, or the Candy Plum over Charcoal Silver. See, it is GOOD I have three weeks in which to make up my mind :D

Oooh, pretty! I'm partial to the pink, of the ones you have pictured. The green next. Not a big fan of red or black, but that's just me. Know you'll pick exactly the right color for you. What fun!! :p

I wish that I could link to the Pearl in Black or the Purple Pearl, they are quite striking - more so than the ones I did post :)

i am looking forward to seeing photos of YOUR bike when it is done being built and you have it! and hearing how it rides :)
i like the green but green is my favorite color. i love the red and black but i would never have a red bike myself. it is striking though.

I'm with moonfroggy, I'm also a huge green fan. Or orange. :) I like bright bikes (hence my "saffron" mtb).
I do envy you having to make such a hard decision! I'd be really tempted by the pink, myself.

I couldn't resist sharing pictures of some of the beautiful colors/bikes that I found. I know that it isn't about the color, but I love rich color and getting a custom bike gives me that opportunity.
So I just have to decide between bright, or darker/richer. If I choose the Pearl in Black or either version of the Purple Pearl - accessorizing would be quite fun :D

Someone here posted a charcoal gray mountain bike with pink accents on craigslist. If I'd seen a bike that color in the store - ehhh, too boring - but it was just the right mix of girly and tough.
But I'd never be able to make up my mind with infinite choices. I have a hard enough time with restaurant menus. I'll be in suspense until you can post pictures of the bike you get!
My word, they have a UK site too!
What a fantastic choice of colours, Catrin. I love the pearl finishes.

OMG; so many choices! What fun.
I love that Purple Pearl. That, along with Cinnamon Candy over Copper, are my favorites. But of course, it's not my bike (although I wish it were)! :)
Have fun with your selection. I've seen a few bikes in person that that have a pearlescent paint job. They look absolutely gorgeous in sunlight.

Indy - have you seen the Purple Pearl or the Cinnamon Candy over Copper in person? You know how different color can be in reality compared with a computer monitor. I suspect that it will be one of those two :D Certainly worth the $75 upcharge!

Drool. Those are gorgeous. I'd have a really hard time picking colors, and with a practically infinite pallete, I think my head would explode. :D I really like that red you posted, though.
I look forward to seeing pictures. :)

I haven't. I wonder if Gunnar can provide a paint sample or direct you to an auto shop for a look-see. On my monitor, that purple is very dark--which is why I like it. It's darker than "Barney Purple."

+1. I'd never have considered this combo but then I saw this (http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=6663109&l=393eedd335&id=701163932)at the London Cycle Show in October and had exactly the same reaction. Love it! :)

I called Waterford and might request the paint chart after Christmas - they do require a pretty good deposit but they do refund it. We did have a good talk about what a couple of these colors look like so I do have some things to consider. I think that I am going to have to limit myself to a selection from 5 recent colors otherwise I will NEVER make my mind up in 3 weeks...or 3 MONTHS :)
Apparently the Cinnamon Candy over Copper is a beautiful and very dark/rich copper that is very deep, and she said the Candy Plum over Charcoal Silver is darker than the Purple Pearl. Decisions, decisions - though I think I do want a pearl.

Interesting. The purple pearl plays darker on my monitor than the candy plum, or perhaps its that their photos are good representations. Keep us posted as to your five so we can live vicariously through you.
At least you have some pretty ones to choose from. Are you going to get a steel fork to match?

Yes, I am going to get a steel fork to match. I had toyed with the idea of going to the more expensive colors and getting a 2 or 3 color blend, but I don't need to go that far to suit my desire for rich vibrant color. In case someone would like to see some of these colors, there is a drop-down menu here (http://gunnarbikes.com/site/colors-and-styling/archived-colors/) where you can see them.
My 5 are as follows, in no particular order. Ok, so there are 6 colors, what's another color among friends? ;)
Pearl in Black - pearly little black dress :)
Purple Pearl
Candy Plum over Charcoal Silver
Cinnamon Candy over Copper
Sunset Red over Fine Gold/ Silver w Black Decals
Orange Glow over Sterling Silver

Those are all really pretty choices--and pretty close to my own preferences(if only I was getting a Gunnar, too!) I don't think you could go wrong with any of them. The matching fork will really look nice, too. I tend not to like the look of a carbon forks on pretty steel frames.

OOOh, what fun! Those are so pretty! I looked at many of them. I think my top three are (in no particular order):
Orange Glow over Sterling Silver
Champagne Poly
Sunshine Yellow over Pure Gold
But there are many others I'd be perfectly happy with. Lucky you! :D

....And would probably add 5 more.
The only way I'd get black is if it were metallic with maybe a metallic charcol accented in metallic purple pin-stripe.
I like all the charcoal choices!
Not much help, am I?
Seriously though, I chose both the purples you did. And all the oranges. Sigh.
You noted, of course, that I said I would choose a set of 5 to limit my choices and then immediately changed it to 6 :D
I suspect that I won't make the final choice until my fitter is filling out the paperwork for the actual order. I could not make that choice at this particular minute if I had to do so

I was at my LBS today while they took some measurements from my LHT to send to Gunnar. They had a set of color tubes from Comotion that I checked out, it was quite interesting, though of course they were colors from a different company.
I look great in purple, and also like copper...I suspect that my future Sport will likely either be the Candy Plum over Charcoal Silver or Cinnamon Candy over Copper - and if I were to choose today then it would be the Candy Plum
It has been fun to read the comments on this - and I am looking forward to finally getting the actual bike. Considering that we have had one of the coldest and snowiest Decembers for Indianapolis for some time, I suspect that there won't be many rides this winter. This will give me lots of time to consider the companion for my LHT :)

It is gorgeous, a very deep and rich purple metallic :) I do like green as well, but I wasn't taken by any of the greens in the "recent colors" collection. Was going to go blue, but I already have a blue bike, and my car matches my bike. Have to have my priorities right :D Of course, I might just have to have a blind drawing between the candy plum and the cinnamon over copper at the end, but time will tell.

Oh I absolutely love the candy plum. Gorgeous. Can't wait to hear more and see lots of pictures when the final decision is made! So hard to decide though, I can see that.
