Cdale SuperSix 4 Rival

I still haven't ridden this bad boy (Oby/Oberon always seemed sort of gender-neutral, but this bike seems to be all mischievous guy). He arrived while I was in Las Vegas for the Marathon/Half. I arrived home Tues. night to find a big surprise waiting in the bedroom. Unfortunately our roads are now covered with snow and slop and we're predicted to get 8"+ of snow overnight. So I may not be looking at an actual outdoor ride until March, in these parts.

Oby 2 (named by our shop guy before we had even ordered him. Mike is a funny guy--he picked out the orange hoods, which I adore) hasn't been on the trainer, even. I can't bring myself to take my inaugural ride in the living room. :p

So for now I'm content to keep riding the original Oby (Synapse 5) on the trainer. We're up to 3600+ miles since 11/12/09. I was definitely ready for something a bit faster for some planned duathlons in '11.

Here's hoping for a short Winter! :D

Wow. It matches my team colors. We might have to make that our team bike!

That would be way cool! I had actually hoped to have "Sid blue" handlebar tape and cable housing, but the Sid blue cable housing is more royal (that's what's on my bike) and the Sid blue Fizik tape is more turquoise (like the color scheme of Oby 1). The tape that our shop ended up using is a metallic blue that is a nearly perfect match to my Sidi shoes (Dominator 5 mtn. shoes).

Maybe you should take a trip to California for Xmas and bring Oby with you;)

I was totally envious of the cyclists providing support on the Vegas Marathon course. I could very happily move to warmer climates right about now. :)

oh wow - so pretty! Love the orange hoods!!! IKWYM about weather. I wimped out this November and now we have an all out blizzard. We'll be lucky to have heat and power tomorrow. My bike is sitting in my warm basement all safe and sound til march :)

Beautiful bike! I love the orange.

I'm already sick of it and so far we've had an "easy" Winter. Meh.

I love the orange, too. I thought I might wait another year for an upgrade road bike, but when I saw the orange and SRAM it was a sign. :D

Ha, I've been told Illini, U of VA, and Hope College (my hubby's alma mater). My alma mater's colors are blue and white. Not nearly as flashy. ;)

I think so, too. Every time I look at it I think "hello, SEXY!!!"

Very nice... must wipe drool off the laptop....

And I agree, the first ride must be a "proper" ride, and not on a trainer. But if spring is a llllooonnnggg way off, and a road trip to a warmer climate is out, then the trainer may have to be set up. Does a ride on a trainer count as an official road ride? ;)

Yowzer! What a cool color scheme on that bike, drooling....

Hear ya on the weather, it's winter wonderland around here and the bottom's supposed to fall out of the thermometer this week. Keep that baby nice and dry it won't be long.

I don't think so--I'd still track the "miles" and speed and such, but it's just not the same...and I worry that it would set my bike up for a lifetime of bad juju, or something. :p

Gorgeous! I agree with you, he looks like Oberon, king of the fairies to me, fresh from A Midsummer Night's Dream. I hope you get a short winter too!

It's gotta be torture not to be able to ride that gorgeous machine. Maybe the snow will melt if we all concentrate really hard.

Is it working? :D

*sniff* No. *sobs*

I just keep reminding myself that it's a 2011 and it's still technically 2010, so I should wait, anyhow...but it's literally cold comfort. :p We're not supposed to see temps above freezing pretty much any time before the new year. By then I will likely have broken-down and stuck the poor guy on the trainer.

I love orange bikes. The orange and white color combo is what drew me to my BMC. Enjoy your lovely new speed machine! :D

I already knew that eventually a more aggressive, carbon (for our rough chip-sealed roads that really take a lot of the pleasure out of rides) frame with SRAM would be in my future. I figured maybe in another year or two. And then I saw that bike when Cannondale updated the site with the 2011 models...and literally squealed out loud. Orange is my favorite color and it's equipped with SRAM Rival. It was a no-brainer. I showed it to DH and our shop guy and DH knew he had no way of saying no. Our shop guy even named it a good month before we actually placed the order. ;)

Is it really? Not long after I saw the bike on Cannondale's website one of the wrenches are our LBS posted a photo of one on his FB page that he was assembling for another customer. I chastised him for being a tease. Every time we would go into the shop for other things I would "pet" the one on the sales floor. It was 3 sizes too big for me, but I still liked to ogle it. :o

You need a Rabobank kit to match the colors... ;)
