My PT tells me today that the hamstring tendinitis appears to be healed, and the hammie strain is close to it. The problem is this stubborn quad tendon...

Except that he is starting to think that it is from the sartorius muscle instead (or both). Regardless he can feel the remaining inflammation in the muscle. While I do not, thankfully, have most of the symptoms of hip arthritis, he thinks an x-ray of my hip might be of interest. Apparently my remaining discomfort is very common for those who have it - yet I don't have the other symptoms.

So I will contact my doc and get the x-ray... and who knew there is a hip flexor on the inside of my thigh? I didn't...

The sartorius muscle, and the so-called tailor's bunion, have made me wonder a lot about the history of the profession of tailoring. Are tailors the only people who sat on the floor?? And how hard of a floor, and how many hours of uninterrupted sitting on it, would it take to develop a tailor's bunion?

Anyway, hope you heal up soon. I really feel those inner thigh muscles when I've been doing a lot of high RPM spinning, like back in the day with motorpacing. I'm guessing they're involved a lot in stabilizing the knee through the pedal stroke?

Having just paid my bill for my own hip x-ray, I'm curious as to how his treatment plan for you will change if it is arthritis. I ask because my own PT was pretty dismissive of my x-ray confirmed hip arthritis. His treatment plan for me didn't change. About the only thing he cautioned me about is running. I
He wants me to strengthen the muscles that support my hip and to continue working on my range of motion and my glutes.

I get the idea that he really doesn't think it is arthritis, as I don't have most of other symptoms - just thinks I should rule it out. There is, however, inflammation in either the sartorious up very close to where it attaches, the quad tendon, or both. It is just such a different area to do anything with...though I continue with my exercises and stretches. He is also focusing on making that area stronger and more balanced with my quads & hammies; I have no flexibility nor range of motion problems.

Have you considered massage of the area ? A good Sports massage therapist should be able to get to the area and help move any tension & toxin build up.

It was massaged today by my PT, and have been rolling it on a daily basis. I had no idea that there was still inflammation in the area though, but he felt it so we know there is still some...
