Just curious how much training is involved and what certifications you need? What's the good/bad of it? Sounds like a fun side job.

I've looked into it myself. Classes here are readily available. It seems it just depends on what certification is required by employers.

I'm certified as a spinning instructor through Mad Dogg Athletics. So, I can call myself a "spinning" instructor because Johnny G. got a patent on the word "spinning." Sheesh.
It is considered to be the gold standard by most employers. You need to take a day long workshop & a test. You can go to the spinning website & find out where they are held.
Yes, it is fun to help people meet their goals. I have a variety of people. Some are just starting or re-starting a fitness program and some are training for races.
The bad side is that you'll need to provide your own music & training. When you start downloading songs, that can get expensive.
You might want to move this to the spinning forum to get many more opinions. There are some awesome instructors on this website with years of experience.
