So I want to start baking my own bread and other things. I have a source for wheat but need a grinder. There are so many out there, does anyone have a favorite? I want to get a hand grinder, just because...Anyone use any specific brand that you like better than another?

I think with wheat grinders as with so many other things, you get what you pay for. Besides that, grinding wheat is hard work.

Okay, I know zero about it, but Lehman's is one of my favorite stores, and this is the best looking thing I saw there: http://www.lehmans.com/store/Kitchen___Grain_and_Grain_Mills___Diamant_Grain_Mill___525?Args=
Hand operated appliances of different types, I do know, and I think the big flywheel is going to make this one MUCH sturdier and easier to operate than anything with a skinny handle, and the cast iron won't bend the way aluminum grinders do.

I while ago, I was looking into getting one of the cheaper ones to use at work--to give the kids the whole Little Red Hen experience, but based on the reviews of the ones I was willing to pay for, I decided against it.
I want one of these:

Of course, I want it to cost quite a lot less!
There is also another one that has a hand crank option and a Kitchen Aid attachment that I thought about, but I'm still buying flour. http://www.everythingkitchens.com/fgm_kitchenaid_adaptor_hand_base_grain_mill_4020_flaker_mill_4021.html
Although, since I am now allergic to everything I breathe, I also wonder about the wisdom of filling the kitchen with additional particles.

one of my favorite bloggers recommends nutrimill. I don't have one. But I do like hard white wheat flour. This blogger loves hard white wheat. I make whole wheat (100%) bread in my bread maker and it comes out soft and fluffy!
