Tucker Cat jumped in my lap, snuggled for awhile and has now fallen asleep on my left arm. Sorry... can't reach the camera. And Thom wonders why I get nothing done on vacation.

What a sweet way to get trapped! Sounds like Tucker Cat certainly knows how to take advantage of the situation :)

My new kitty, Jaguar, is the most cuddly kitty I have ever owned. Just a few weeks ago, I discovered he loves to sleep under the covers when he starts to get cold. He starts out on the bad, then when he wants to come under, he taps me on the face gently and I lift the covers and under he slips, to sleep the rest of the night. If you hug him tight, he likes it even more! Then, I get up make coffee, go to the computer and up he jumps to curl on my lap; and then I go to watch the news and weather on the couch and finish my first cup of coffee and up he comes to sleep on my lap till I put him in his chair.

He is sooooo sweet! It does make it hard to get anything done!

My kitty does the same thing. He gently paws as the covers. If I ignore him he gets a little more insistent that he come under the covers, pawing harder, even pushing his little face under the edges until he finds an opening. In my case he gets hot or irritated if I shift and leaves, only to repeat the process in an hour. As sweet as it is at first, the third time being woken up, it stops being sweet tho even then I can't refuse him. The tickle of little whiskers on my face and the sound of his purrrrrr in the quiet darkness just melt away any annoyance or anger.

This is making me so jealous. I've been catless for too long now, since my last one lost his battle with cancer. I think I'm due to start checking the shelters for the one(s) that call out to me.

My one cat (not the avatar one) used to sleep under the covers all the time, or partly under them with her head on the pillow. She was always so warm that in the colder months, it made it really hard to get up and start my day! :)

I guess that *somebody* is trying to tell you to relax and chill out today. ;)

Cassie Cat's turn - she won't stay as long. She's not so into laps. But she'll sleep all night on my ankles.

I've had kitty on my lap vs notebook computer for a couple of days now - every evening. I did pull the heating pad out for my kitty that's suffering from his arthritis and cancer - he now chooses to lie on that, but he still comes over for lap time, and tries to lie on top of my hands.

somewhere I have a photo that dh took during the summer. I am asleep on the bed, lying on my back. One cat is curled up on my chest, another (the big maine coon- 22 pounds) is asleep, draped across my thighs while the youngest is curled up against my ankles. Lately miss Ike, the baby has taken to sleeping under the blankets with us, cruled up against my knees, at night.

Gaffer (aka Emo Cat) is asleep on my lap as I type. He has a sore paw at the moment so is feeling even more smoochy than usual and sorry for himself. We have three cats. Our elderly female Burmese insists on being let under the duvet to sleep on my right side. Gaffer sleeps curled up against my chest on the right. Our little moggy usually sleeps on either my or my husband's feet. We definitely need a king-sized bed!

It's amazing how a cat on your lap can bring your whole day to a halt! It completely defies the laws of physics the way a 10 pound cat can pin you down.

Houston (We Have a Problem), our boycat, like to sleep under the covers, too. Mostly he's warm and cuddly, but occasionally he likes to knead me and he's very bad with his claws. I have no idea how he breathes under the blanket and down comforter. I guess he's a facultative anaerobe...

trapped in the mornings when the twins, mellow and johnny, come out from under the bed and lay all over my neck and chest. i just love it. i'll stay that way and just read around them. life is so good.

BTW, roadie gal, mine like to knead too, have you trimmed their claws? it's so easy to do and they can knead to their hearts' content and not pierce skin.

Awwww... I do the heating pad trick for Peanut. She's about 15 now. She limps when she gets up from a nap and it takes her a while to get 'primed' as I call it to get up on the bed. Every evening she still tears through my apartment like she is a kitten again though? Poor thing I have to point out the kitty treats I throw to her now, she can't see very well any longer. She's still happy though, she purrs and loves to play with her little fishing pole and her catnip mouse.:D

Trust me a king size bed won't help.........I have a Pomeranian and a cat and they take up more room than my husband and I :-)

+1 :)

I'm sort of trapped here...cat likes to sleep on technology. Usually it's my phone, but she's stretched out across the power cord for my laptop (which is about dead).

Oh, yeah, we cut his nails. He HATES it. It's a 2 person epic. First we put on our flameproof gloves and our body armor. Then we corner him and burrito wrap him in a blanket. One of us holds him while the other pulls out one paw at a time, cuts the nails, and then tucks the paw back in before pulling out the next paw. The whole time he's screeching and wiggling. By the time we're done all 3 of us are in a sweat. We do that about every 2 weeks. He's lovely to hold when his claws are cut, though.

Yikes, that sounds unpleasant. We lucked out with Cassie and Tucker. They both are quite well behaved during claw clipping.

Tucker just got up from a nap and Cassie is in a mood and stalking him. Better him than the pencils she was just attacking!

there is a heated cat bed that you can buy from Dr.s foster and Smith that is a deep padded basket with a barely warm heating element that you can't really feel but keeps the temperature at a warm comfortable for dogs and cats with aging and arthritis issues. Our geriatric Cappucinno spent much of his last year, curled in his bed and snoozing comfortably. It eased his pain and movement.

As for clipping their nails..... although both of my cats hiss, moaan and complain about getting their nails clipped, they both know that I am bigger and meaner than they are and the clipping is noisy and a bimonthly event, they do eventually forgive us and when they knead, it is ever so much more comfortable.

I got stuck for an hour on the sofa once when my Mastiff decided I was more comfy than the plain old cushion. She got me pinned with my arms up on my chest, so I had zero leverage to push her off.

I dunno.. I love him.. but he's recently taken to sleeping on TOP of the DVR inside the entertainment stand. Just barely enough room for him to fit. The remote wasn't working the other day and here I was clicking away, about to go in search of batteries, thinking they were the cause, then I spotted a paw hanging down in-front of the sensor.

Black cat.. dark (warm) places.. Oy!!
