What a race this year - been glued to the feed....

Amazing performances by Crissie Wellington and Coach Troy - and I got to see our local person finish the race. Now - if only I could make myself close the feed and go to sleep.....:rolleyes:

Not in the class of athletes you're talking about, but a friend of mine from way back in my figure skating days finished IMAZ a short while ago.

She was over 220 pounds a couple of years ago. Today, she's under 120 pounds, and this evening she became an Ironwoman.

I cannot begin to tell you how thrilled and proud of her I am.

Chrissie is... incredible. Makes it look so easy. After averaging 23.4 on the bike she runs a 6:34 pace for the marathon. WOW!!

Everyone who makes it to the starting line of an IM is amazing IMO. Finishing makes you even more amazing- regardless of your time. I'm a back of the pack IM'er, so even tho those athletes who finish in single digit times, or even 10-12 hours are amazing, I think the tail enders are equally amazing!!

Congrats to your friend, Jobob- what an incredible journey she's had this last year!!

It was great...I was glued to the live feed too. I am continually impressed by Chrissie, and what a comeback for Jordan. Great great race.

These are the real Ironmen and Ironwomen. Those with stories. :)
