Okay, for my inaugural post I have a semi-gross question for the other cyclists. Have any of you had experience with Brazilian bikini waxing and cycling? I go for fairly long rides fairly often on an itty bitty road bike saddle (using chamois butter too) and I wonder if there are negative effects from being totally waxed.

Specifically I wonder about the chamois sticking or chafing or if it's otherwise uncomfortable or if feels...um, inappropriate to the situation? Generally I just get regular bikini waxes and I feel like some hair acts as a shield. But I want to tend a little more aggressively as long as it won't impact my ability to comfortably ride.

Any thoughts? Thank you!

Well, and while we're here, what about laser? And, how much should, um, go, with the laser?

you should also think about whether or not you are going to continue it- All I can think of is all the discomfort and oportunity for impacted hair follicles as you ride while your hair is inevitably grows back in unless you recover before you ride

I know that I can't ride the day of or within 24 hours of a regular bikini wax. If I keep the area "irritation free" for that amount of time, then it's fine. I have never had an issue when the hair grows back.

I think I'd rather not know.

I thought maybe it had been a thread here, never seen it before.

"nair Schnauzer" brought up zip in the TE search.

In my personal experience, the less hair, the better. Stay away from the chamois for the rest of the day to avoid infected follicles.

If it's your first time doing that much real estate, pick up some Tucks at the drugstore - they're great for taking down any puffiness or pain! My other big tip is not to go when you're premenstrual; most women are more sensitive to pain then.

Things that one learns on TE forums.

Somehow the thought of a full bikini wax on a regular basis, sounds like a cosmetic burden.

Thanks, Soprano! I think I'm just going to go for it and report back.

I have only gotten regular waxes up to this point but I've always been curious. I already know that shaving is a horrible, horrible idea, at least for me, so that's a solid no.

I've been getting brazilians longer than I've been biking, so don't know any difference. Agree with waiting a day after. The other thing is making sure to exfoliate well- everyday. One of those mesh shower puffs works well.
