It's beautiful--a bit chilly, but with cloudless blue sky and the leaves are still spectacular (mix of green, brown, red and yellow). My body wants to ride, but my brain doesn't want to.

Usually it's the opposite. Maybe I'll compromise and go for a walk.

Sometimes you just feel like a slug. Just to exist. Want or desire for nothing to "do" but exist. I felt like that this morning when the alarm went off.

I did take a walk and it was good for me!

My body and brain both say they want to ride, but since my brain just "accidently" through all of my knickers into the wash, leaving me nothing to wear, I think someone is lying.

The next couple of days are supposed to be crappy...rain/snow mix and chilly. Today is the day to get a long-ish run in, but I am stalling. I feel no mojo.

I love walks. It takes far more motivation to suit up for a serious ride, salty drinks and all the gear, but with a walk, just walk out the door and it's not as brutalizing in the wind and cold.

Now that is really funny! I know the slug feeling or lack of mojo because it happened to me the other day. I went for a ride but my body felt out of synch with my bike and normally we are one. I gave up and called it quits after 4 miles.

I'm starting to look at pool lap swimming as an alternative winter recreation. It elongates the muscles or so I'm told. Maybe it'll make me taller, I'm only 5' 1".

So much for my brain's conniving. I found pair of Sugoi tights I bought for my bf in '98 (I'm not kidding) and off I went. If I didn't ride today, I'd probably have 3 days off in a row, and I know by Sat I'd be ready to lose it.

Those tights are slippery, but they sure have lasted.

I don't want to jinx our weather here in Denver - had to check my calendar to confirm...yep! It's November! Can't believe it's supposed to be in the 70's this weekend :)

I don't know what it is. Probably a combination of the "off-season", the chilly weather, the wind, the dark mornings. But I haven't ridden since monday, can't ride fridays, so that will be 4 days in a row off the bike!!!! I never do that, and kinda feel guilty. After all the work I put in this year, I don't want to let my gains slip away. . . Oh well, I probably needed the time off, and I will ride on sat and probably get my butt kicked :-)

Well I want to ride, but my body and brain are co-conspirators in this nasty cough, so none of us are riding.
