Hi - need some suggestions on a powder coat color for an old Fuji mixte. Was thinking of using a Charger "Ladle Swirl" saddle I picked up. Black with pink rails & pink stitching (pic). Might even convert it to a ss or fixie so thinking "hipster mixte" theme. Please no negative remarks since this may be a Christmas gift to a "hipster Chica friend".

Frame: pink or black powdercoat?
Bar tape: Salsa's pink tape or black elk hide w/pink thread to try & match seat?
Cables: thinking Jaqwire carbon silver (i just like these). Or black or pink?
Tires: Creme Delta Cruisers (I know hard to keep clean, I have a set of Fat Franks on my grocery getter. These tires just make me :)

Thanks for your help!

"Luna pink" might match that gorgeous saddle. Check www.lunacycles.com and look at the photo gallery. There should be at least one "Luna pink" frame there (I just checked, there is: it's actually my much-beloved Orbit--purple/"Luna pink" fade paint). It's a rich pink, neither too fushia or too pastel.

Go with the black elk bar tape. One of my pink Lunas has pink bar tape and it's a b*tch to keep clean. Plus you can't beat pink/black color combo.

Your hipster chicka will be lucky to get that mixte---lots of thought going into making it lovely.

Can't go wrong with a pink mixte (http://forums.teamestrogen.com/showthread.php?t=16078&highlight=Mixte). Mine is sparkly pink and gorgeous.

I hope that saddle is comfortable for the giftee, since you're going to the trouble of painting the bike to match it.:p

Selkie....... Thx for the info on pink bar tape being hard to keep clean. And awesome Orbit--purple/"Luna pink" fade paint)!
Divingbike....good point on the comfort. The Charge saddle is lady specific but I know how saddles are personal preferance. I'll try and upload some pics showing how it's a bit wider & shorter. Not overly padded. I got one on my loaner Fuji Abolute 2.0 & no complaints but longest rides have been about 8 mi around a lake & diff frame geometry..Thx again!

beautiful mixte (and saddle, too).
I would go with black on the bike. Then you can add the pink touches (pink fenders, pink cages, pink saddle bag- and that black elk hide bar tape).
I LOVE pink accents on a black bike.
