Hi
I have been a running/fitness enthusiast for close to 20 years starting from school to the army and to my professional working life and I have never been treated with such contempt by a gear shop.

I ordered two pairs of ALINE insoles thinking I will give these guys a chance by trying their insoles, it’s always good to give innovators a chance but how wrong I was!

I received my two pairs of insoles in September and one insoles of a pair has a manufacturing defect where the moulding and the plastic skeleton were not sealed properly thus rendering it defective. I emailed them and requested for them to cover my postage cost back to them for an exchange. I received an email reply from their sales person telling me not to bother sending the defective pair back and they will post out a replacement pair to me. At that time I thought to myself that I have made a right choice by giving these guys a go as they seem to have good after sales support…HOW WRONG WAS I!!!!

After not receiving my replacement for a month I sent them an email but no reply from them. After a few weeks I still have not received the replacement so I again sent an email to them, again no reply from them. Last week same situation so I sent off another email to them and have not hear from them. They are clearly ignoring my email.

I don’t understand the business philosophy of these guys. They seem to rather rip a customer off then to want returning customer and potential referrals to many more customers and spreading their products by word of mouth.

I am not sure if anyone has been through the same thing but I am writing this to warn people of this bunch of crooks. They scammed me of a pair of insoles.

I'm not saying your complaints are not legit, but I am fairy dismissive of anyone whose first post on this forum or any of the others I frequent is one slamming a product, retailer or manufacturer. Maybe it doesn't bother others, but it bothers me. This isn't the BBB.

Heee heee hee, I think it's funny that the first person to reply to him on Runner's World said the exact thing I said: Did you try calling them?

The amount of effort and time searching new fori and creating accounts and posting on them would be utterly offset by the "price" of making a damm phone call!

Hi

I am not spamming. Spamming consist of posting sales that are financially beneficial in nature. I posted to other fitness forum with my experience to alert others about it, how else would you do it otherwise?

It took me 5 minutes to post without costing me anything.

Ah, but it does cost you something. It costs you quite a lot.

BTW, I just called Aline about your problem. Nice folks. Maybe you should let go of your anger and call them.

And since the likely cause of your problem is an employee who left the company before sending you your insoles, don't try to contact that person directly any more. When you get the automated greeting system on the phone, hit "0" to get the operator. They will direct your call to someone who can help you. Don't go through the directory for your contact's voice mail box, as that person might be gone.

Where did he go? He didn't even say "thanks."

(pssst - I know it's embarrassing to be caught with your pants down by a bunch of complete strangers, but you'll get over it. Happens to everyone at some point.)

That's funny. All that anger wasted on something that could have been fixed all along....

I did email sales and info@aline.com as well as the specific sales person. The sales and info email address are listed on their website.

I don't get it, embarrassed and caught with pants down with what? I posted a true account of my experience with them, I don't see what I was caught out with.

Thanks for calling them but as I said the emails I sent were addressed to both their main email as well as the salesperson so all these while I should have gotten a reply back from whoever is monitoring the main email address even if that individual salesperson have left.

Guess what? I used a different email address to ask a generic question just to see if I would get any reply and the same sales person replied within a day.
