2007 Lemond Tourmalet WSD

Hi folks,
I've been lurking for a year and appreciate all the great information.

Like many of you, I'm on the short side. 5'5" with a short torso and short arms.

Have tracked down a 44cm 2007, Lemond Tourmalet in another state. However, because Trek has pulled down all the on-line information, I can't find a real top tube length. The owner doesn't seem knowledgeable enough to give me a solid answer.

This model (I think) only came in one color and it is a light to medium blue.

Any chance anyone might have some info?

You can use internet archives to find the link - someone on here posted the link to the lemond catalog in the internet archives somewhere after I complained about that at some point.

The computer I had the link bookmarked on crashed, but I think if you search lemond archives on this forum, you'll find it somewhere.

You could also ask the seller to measure it for you

I'm 5'4" longer torso, shorter arms. I found my 48cm was a bit short and now ride a 50cm. Could do 51cm. That sounds small to me

I was thinking the same thing. I'm 5'4 with short legs and a long torso and ride bikes in the range of 47-50 cm, with a preference toward 50 cm.

I posted a Lemond chart about a year ago, but the link is gone from the post. I'm between 5'4 and 5'5 with short arms and torso and the Lemond I was bidding on was a 49 and honestly I backed off because I thought it would be just a tad small for me. On most bikes I ride 50-51. I think this bike is too small. I'll keep looking for the chart, though.

Don't know if this would help, but it does appear the LeMond models are not in the standard Trek Archives.

Just curious.. is the bike your looking at in Kentucky? I did a Google search and one of the first links was a CraigsList posting. If it is, make sure you find out if this is a double or a triple, if that matters for you, they offered both in 07'

Just want to reiterate what the others said: it might be too small. At 5'4" (short-torsoed, long-armed), I ride frames in the 48-50cm range, depending on effective top tube length.

I sold a 47cm frame a few years ago because it was just too short reach-wise.

I will indeed check on whether it is a double or triple. Might be able to live with either but would prefer a double, though I will probably change it over to a compact. Frankly, I was hoping the TT would be a lot closer to 50cm rather than 51. My current and last bike were both 51.5 and even with a shorter stem, moving the saddle forward, etc., it just isn't as comfortable as I want to be.

I had the link kicking around in my bookmarks. My first road bike was a 2007 LeMond Reno, so I kept the link around as a reference for myself.

One thing to keep in mind about LeMond bikes is that they tend to have taller head tubes and slacker seat tube angles than many other frames of similar size. That can be helpful with the comfort factor. (There are others here who are more knowledgeable about how seat tube angle effects top tube length, maybe one of them will come along and chime in to clear that up if you have questions.)
