Note to self - if you wear tights that you last wore when you weighed 35 pounds more, they will not stay up. Factor in new high heels and you have the makings of a very bad day.

I was wearing a black Smartwool skirt to work.

They weren't super high heels, they were Ahnus - the ones MP loves. But I've come to the conclusion that my feet just don't like my heels being elevated much more than 1/2 an inch. I absolutely refuse to sacrifice comfort for fashion - no matter how cute the shoes are. :D So the shoes are in my Goodwill box.

Damn. And I don't even think of those as "heels". Just shows you how the early 90's scarred me.

Yeah, I know, they aren't that high. Thom called them elevated running shoes. :D I'm sad because I really liked them.

43 years of never wearing heels though and it's just not worth it to try to get use to it.

The last time I wore heels of more than 1/4" was over 40 years ago, l'eggs or panyhose 25 years and makeup about 15 years ago and that was lipstick.

This last summer was the first time I had ever worn a strapless bra or a regular bra in 25 years. Both were on the occasion of my son's doctorate ceremony and wedding. I love the dresses but will probably not wear them again until the next wedding or maybe never. Except for an anniversary or birthday, we don't go out to much of anywhere that is fancy enough to justify a bra or shoes with heels.

My casual wardrobe is a ride t shirt, shorts, or jean, depending on the season, and tevas with or without wool socks. My more formal wear is a nice pair of dockers, a cotton blouse with a collar and mary jane style tevas.

On the other hand, I am always clean, presentable, saucered and blowed.

That's too much! Happened to me, too. I ended up having to safety pin the waistband to get through the day without any mishaps.

I couldn't stand going without a bra and I am not exactly well endowed...
Plus, when I was teaching, nipples and visible breasts were not so good for 12 year old boys to see. And now I am mindful of anything that would be "triggering" for my clients.
V, your post made me laugh. I have had several times when something about my clothing was driving me crazy to the point of distraction, while at work. I hope you are recovered from your day.

Glad you got a laugh. I could not wait to get home and get those stupid tights off! The shoes I just kept taking off in class. I felt like one of those kids wearing their pants down around their butt. How can they be comfortable like that?!

Ha! my last period class (7th grade) was so restless I made them do jumping jacks before going inside. One of the 3 boys who was reluctant couldn't do them because his pants were too loose.... got a little teasing from the rest of the class.

But it must be nice to have the 35 pounds gone!

And heels? Not for me either.
