View Full Version : I'm a lazy bum... how about you?
Typically... I ride Sat and Sun mornings. But this weekend, I slept in both days, and skipped the rides.
I even went out Fri night to a club and drank!
Sat morning was very nice... but Sun was 99 degrees here... so I was perfectly fine NOT sweating in the humid heat.
Who else has been lazy... or who else just needs a break sometimes so they don't get bored of riding?

Its nice to have a break sometimes and enjoy a sleep in. I normally ride Sat and Sun but Im on a forced rest I guess you could say as my husband/chief baby sitter is away for a month so only a couple of rides thru the week for me.
I do think having a break when you feel like one is a good idea and invigorates you for your next ride. :)

Glad I'm not the only one feeling like a lazy bum today. I had ample opportunity to ride (twice) and decided against it both times. Gosh, if I'd spent as much time actually riding today as I did either (a) reading this forum or (b) shopping at the bike store, I could have logged in quite a few miles.
No bumming for me this weekend! Saturday morning I had my first ride with my new club in Vancouver (the Dizzy Chicks), 100 km right before lunch. Went to a friend's housewarming party and had more drinks then I should have had only to come back home and find an email by another new riding partner saying that he would be waiting for me in front of my residence at 9am. Ouch!!! I crawled out of bed a bit before 8 so I could at least get water, coffee and some food in before the ride but those first few kilometers hurt! I was pretty dehydrated and quite tired from a too-short night. Got another 45 in, not bad for a girl who wasn't really intending to ride...
So I totally envy your lazy weekend... but somehow I think that I felt better today after that ride than if I would have slept late and spent the morning in my pajamas... Maybe when it starts raining. I'm enjoying all the good weather we get for riding, I'll have tons of bummin' time when it starts to rain I guess.
(However I DID spend the month of August doing only fun rides with friends, no training per se. It did feel very good after a very intense month of July, and gave me the energy to start again in big gear in September.)

I've been lazy for a couple weeks! I've only ridden I think twice in the past 2 weeks. I haven't been completely lazy as I've walked or done my exercise ball workout. It has been extremely windy here and it rained several days which caused me not to want to ride. Yesterday a couple friends talked us into a short ride after church in the wild wind. It was probably the most wind I've ever ridden it. It got really hard towards the end but I got motivated to get out there and ride. I've also got a 60 mile organized ride coming up in 2 weeks so I better get out there!

I was a "forced" bum... I had friends here from AZ... they are not cyclists so no riding for me... but I had a great time showing them around...
I have a century this weekend so will get a ride in tonight and another on Wed night... I leave Fri at noon for the Sat ride!
