I'm looking for a run of the mill 40cm bar with a short and shallow drop. But I need a 26mm clamp. Anybody seen one lately that's not made of gold/carbon? Everyone I see had the over sized clamp and I like my stem as is. Salsa has a carbon one for like $200, but ouchie on that!

Salsa Moto Ace Poco. http://salsacycles.com/components/moto_ace_poco/

I think I bought mine for $40 or so.

Salsa Moto Ace Short and Shallow is about the same price. http://salsacycles.com/components/moto_ace_short_shallow/ I couldn't really tell the difference handling the two bars.

Oooh, just looked at my bike, I take it back. I sold the Poco and kept the Short and Shallow. There must have been a reason, but I don't remember it.

ETA: if you find a bar made by Salsa that you like, but you want the same bar in aluminum and with a smaller clamp, just put the words "Moto Ace" in front of the name. Moto Ace are the 26 clamp/cheaper material versions of the other bars.

I have a salsa poco 40cm 26mm clamp aluminum I bought gently used for $40. I never used it, but I'll turn it around to you for the same price(plus shipping) if you are interested. Just PM me. THe specs are here, its definitely short and shallow:

Good luck, I spent countless hours trying to find a 26.0mm clamp bar that I liked. I tried a Ritchey, but I did not like the ergo bump in the drops, did not leave enough flat area for me.

I now have a Cinelli LW that is 38cm across the tops and 40cm across the drops and is quite comfortable, runs about mid to upper $60s. (Here's a pic of the bars on my bike: http://forums.teamestrogen.com/showpost.php?p=538929&postcount=17)

Happy bar hunting.

Salsa and Ritchey are the two brands that come to mind. Ritchey makes a couple of different shapes- one that's more ergo than the other. Personally, I like them both. I also have a Deda 215 bar on one of my bikes that's 26.0 mm/ 40 cm ctc. I found the Deda on Ebay.

Good luck!

Would the Deda Piega be any use? That's the bar I have on my Bob Jackson, 40cm width, 26mm diameter. Inexpensive too.
