Found some interesting statistics here on biking. I always thought there were more male bike riders than females, but according to this, it's the other way around.

Interesting stats - it seems if you single girls are looking for a fella that is over 40 and cycles you need to be checking out those doctors and lawyers (ooh that doesnt sound too bad). :D

LOL sign me up!
Oh, and I guess it was the recreational bikers where there were more women than men....its the licensed racers where the ratio goes from 89% men to 11% women.
Seems to me that road bike decision might pay off in more ways than one, hee hee ;)

Look at all those single racers - 65%! And they're rich! And they have great legs! No wonder all those women are spectators.
I wonder if the 31 million avid cyclists include people in spinning classes? That would skew the sex ratio a bit.
Thanks, parttime - very interesting!
P.S. I think all 31 million were riding in my neighborhood this weekend - summer's last hurrah! ;)

Actually no, I only ran across that survey and the STLBiking site when I got to wondering if there was anything to the idea that bike shops were more partial to men bikers because they were doing most of the bike shop business.
I didn't get the best treatment from a Trek dealer here in town, whether that was because I was a woman or because it was just the Trek dealer or what I don't know.
I prefer to think that God was directing me to the right bike shop and therefore made all my other bike shop experiences so-so to crummy. ;)

Ok. Total cyclists: 64.3 mil, adults 48 mil, children 14.3. Adults + Children only 62.3. Where are the missing 2 million?
Not to be a stickler of course.... sigh. Sitting here working on papers is getting to me.
