This weekend I had two great rides. On Saturday DH and I rode from our house to the river and back. It was 41 miles and my longest ride to date. I felt great and had so much fun. We averaged 15-16 mph over the ride. My previous longest ride was 35 miles.

On Sunday, we attended Old Town Elkhorn Cycle Fest in Elkhorn, NE. It was a great FREE! event and there were about 120 riders there. It was a 15 miles out and 15 miles back course that you could do however many times you wanted. I did two loops for a total of 60 miles. It was a great ride. I was pretty tired by the end, but I had so much fun. I just had to share.

Good for you! It's a wonderful feeling, isn't it, when you find you can go further and do it comfortably; how neat!

wow you did an almost cumulative century. Go for a 75 miler and then you'll be ready for a century as everybody always has another 20-30 miles in them provided they aren't under a time limit being forced to hit a certain speed.

Go You!!!

Thanks ladies! It was a really fun weekend. I won't have the time for another long ride like that for a few weeks, but I'll be looking forward to the next one.

All the sudden the 12 miles for a sprint triathlon seem like nothing at all!

I always thought that it was a huge jump from 75 or 80 to 100, but my longest ride this summer was 80 miles and hubs and I completed the hotter'n hell hundred without a problem this summer.
