OK Ladies here is my second question for the evening. Does anyone out there ride a Santa Cruz Juliana? I want to buy a mountain bike to ride in winter when the weather turns a bit treacherous and hope to eventually do some actual mountain biking. I like the look and feel of this bike and wonder how others like the ride.

You speak of my baby..."Ernie" (we call him Crush) for he is orange and will crush any trail you take him to!!! I am absolutely in love with my beautiful orange *smooth as a dreamsicle* machine!!!
I rode a couple borrowed bikes (1 hardtail, one HEAVY dual suspension) when one day I went to the bike shop and Ernie followed me home :p
*actually, my BF at the time (now fiancee) saw how much i was lovin mtbiking, after 2 months of dating ordered up a SC Juliana in my favorite color (did i mention it was orange?)
**let me try and make this short (heh)
We went on a group ride to N Carolina, many on the group were racers. We were dropped of at the top of the Blue Ridge Parkway (6500 feet) and rode down. I was a tad out of my element since all of my riding was in Florida (you don't need a mountain to mtbike ) needless to say the hill was LONG and steep! (OH...and it was raining so it was wet too) most everyone was on a dual suspension and flew on down...my fiancee was on a hardtail (did i mention he used to race too) anyway...he was pokin along and clipping out at every root and switchback (ok, the switchbacks were a little ALOT slippery!!!) and he was walking (and chris does NOT walk very much) down some rock gardens...me & Ernie you ask? Smooth as a fresh mushroom top on a dewy morning!!!! :p Yes, i was scared silly for the most part but half way down i realized i was doing great...and i owe alot of it to the SC Juliana!
I ride a WSD medium...I am 5'1" From what i have read the WSD large is basically a mens...so depending on your height. I do recommend test driving if you can!!!
I have told my fiancee about this gal who lives where i grew up! I wish i was into cycling while i was there...the base roads are so long and safe and the mountain riding is uh... :D :D :D (i don't have the words!!!!)
Happy cycle hunting!!!!

I ride a Juliana, and I love it!
I have nothing negative to say about this ride. (Other than it won't tell me it's name!!) It was my blessing in disguise when it replaced my stolen WSD Trek Fuel which was a good bike but had tons of drivetrain problems.
Like bouncybouncy, I'm 5'1", but I ride the small. Just goes to show how everyone's parts are put together differently. And the adjective "smooth" is a good one.
If you like how it feels and it fits you, go for it. I don't think you'd be disappointed.

bouncybouncy and Dirtgirl - Thanks for the reviews. I have read heaps about this bike and it all sounds good. I took one for a test ride but it was a while ago so I will try to get in one more test ride and take it from there.
I will let you know how I get on but I think its looking pretty good for the Santa Cruz to become our newest 2 wheel family member. :D
