I've been lurking for awhile and finally decided to sign up.
I recently bought a used road bike (a Trek 2000, which is around 8-10 yrs old) and a new Trek mountain bike. I was lucky to find a used road bike, since I'm 5 foot tall. These are the first two bikes I've owned as an adult that actually fit and I feel comfortable and confident in riding. The bike I had before (a mountain bike) was too big and I was not comfortable riding it at all. Of course these two purchases came after moving from the Charlotte, NC area to the Jacksonville, NC area in the spring.
My family consists of my husband and our three cats. We have no children. My husband has been riding mountain bikes pretty much his whole life. After I got my road bike he bought a road bike as well. Although he is still not comfortable riding it yet. We bought his bike at the beginning of Aug.
Our cats are: Tiger, a female tabby who is around 13 yrs old. Ariel, a tortishell, who is around 8 yrs old. Arwen, a calico, who is around 6 years old. Yep all females. Tiger was a stray and Ariel and Arwen were adopted through two different rescues in the Charlotte area. Tiger moved with me 10 years ago when I moved from Ohio to NC.
We moved this spring as my husband got a civil service job at Camp LeJeune. I am grateful to have gotten a transfer from one of the companies I work for. I work as a merchandiser, so I work for several companies to get decent hours each week. I love my job as I get some leeway in setting my hours to do my work. For the most part as long as the store is open I do the work when I want to, as long as it's done by it's due date.
